Try again later windows store

Window Store isn’t available right now. Please try again later.

You have mentioned that, since purchase the Windows 8 computer, you are unable to access the

Windows Store App and you get the error message: «Windows Store isn’t available right now. Please try again later».

1. Are you able to access the other apps on the computer?

You need at least 1024 X 768 screen resolution for Metro apps to work. The Windows apps will not work in screen resolution less than 1024 X 768. To snap apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768. Make sure that the screen resolution meets these requirements. You can check this by:

a) Right-click the mouse from the desktop interface and select “Screen Resolution” from the menu.
b) Check the screen resolution shown there. It should be at least 1024 X 768.

Also, make sure the User Account Control (UAC) is enabled in the computer. To enable the User Account Control on the computer follow these steps:

a. Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys on the keyboard, type “Account Control” in the search bar and press “Enter”.
b. In the “User Account Control Settings” window, move the slider to the default settings and click “OK”.

Let’s try out some basic troubleshooting steps and check the issue. Let’s first check try running the App Troubleshooter and check if that resolves the issue.

Method 1: Run the Apps Troubleshooter

Let’s first run the Apps Troubleshooter and check if that helps. The Apps Troubleshooter is an automated tool which we have developed to address a number of known issues that can prevent the Apps from running properly. This troubleshooter automatically fixes some issues, including suboptimal screen resolution, incorrect security or account settings etc. You can click on this link to download and run the Apps troubleshooter.

For more information, you may also refer the article: “What to do if you have problems with an app” from this link:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app

If the troubleshooter was not able to find and fix the issue, then let’s check if you are using a proxy Internet Connection.

Method 2: Check the location and the date and time and set it according to your location.

Step 1: Check if the location set is correct

a) Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys on the keyboard to display the “Settings” search bar.

b) Type “Change location” in the search tab and click on “Change location”.

c) Check if you have set the correct Home Location. If it is not showing the correct country, then change it to the correct location.

d) Click on “Apply” and “OK”.

Step 2: Check if the date, time and time zones are set correctly.

a) Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys on the keyboard to display the “Settings” search bar.

b) Type “Date and Time” in the search tab and click on the “Date and Time” icon from the left pane of the window.

c) If the date and time are showing incorrect values, click “Change date and time” button (To change the time zone click on time zone tab).

You may also try the following to make sure that it is not a problem with the App license sync and updates.

a. Press Windows key + R.
b. Type in “WSReset.exe”.
c. Press ENTER.
d. Restart the computer and check.

Method 4: Disable the Proxy Settings.

If you are connected to the Internet using the proxy settings, then the Windows 8 Apps cannot connect to the Internet and thus they do not work properly as expected. So, we need to check and disable the proxy settings in the computer. Follow these steps to disable the proxy settings and check if it helps.

a. Press “Windows Logo” + “R”, type “inetcpl.cpl” and press “Enter”.
b. Click the “Connections” tab, and then click “LAN settings”.
c. Uncheck the “Use a proxy server for your LAN” check box.
d. Click “Ok”.

If you are using any third party security program, then let’s also check if the issue is caused by the conflicts from that program.

Method 5: Temporarily disable the third party security program. (If you have installed any)

If you have installed any third party security program, then I request you to contact its technical support to temporarily disable the program and then check the issue.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn’t disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you’re done. If you’re connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hope this helps. If you face any Windows issues in future, let us know and we would be glad to assist you.

Same problem here (on every computer I’ve had with windows 8 installed). Thinking this must be a user-account issue, or localized to my country? Is windows store available to all countries?

Please answer a few questions:

Did you use the same Microsoft account to log onto Windows Store on all the computers?

If you have already tried the steps given above, then please try these methods as well:

Method 1: Temporarily disable the anti-virus programs and the firewalls and check if you are able to access Windows Store:

1. You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall might make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage from worms or hackers.

2. In addition to a firewall, you also need an antivirus and anti-malware program to help protect your computer. Install Microsoft Security Essentials or another antivirus and anti-malware program, and keep it up to date. Many of these programs update automatically.

Important Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn’t disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you’re done. If you’re connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2 : Create another Microsoft Account and check if you are able to log into Windows Store.

If you are able to access Windows Store, then the account is corrupted. You will have to switch to the new one.
