I already bought Tweetbot for iOS. Do I have to buy Tweetbot for Mac?

Tweetbot for Mac and iOS are completely separate apps. A lot of hard work goes into developing and maintaining each version, so we must charge for each to be sustainable as a small company.

Is Tweetbot 3 for Mac a free update for Tweetbot 2 for Mac users?

No. Tweetbot for Mac was originally released in 2012. We released Tweetbot 2 for Mac as a free update in 2015. Tweetbot 3 has been rewritten from the ground up and been in development for over a year. The purchase of Tweetbot 3 allows us to continue updating Tweetbot for years to come.

Security is important to me. How does Tweetbot handle my account access?

Your Twitter password never gets shared with Tweetbot. When you sign into your account via Tweetbot, it is done securely from Twitter’s website and Tweetbot is given permission to use your account via a token. You can always revoke Tweetbot’s access to your account from Twitter’s website at any time.

Обзор Tweetbot 3 для Mac. Лучший способ читать Твиттер

Tapbots выпустили Tweetbot 3 для Mac. Это новая версия одного из лучших клиентов для чтения Твиттера. Она получила темную тему интерфейса и продвинутые фильтры ленты мини-блогов — в сумме стала еще более удобнее.

На фоне прекращения поддержки официального приложения Twitter, новость о выходе альтернативной новинки меня особенно обрадовала. Поэтому расскажу о ней подробнее.

Боковая панель стала круче в 100 раз

Tweetbot 3 — это клиент Twitter на стероидах.

Вместо обычной боковой панели для перехода к общей ленте, личным сообщениям, упоминаниям, избранным постам, поиску и другим фичам здесь расширенный сайдбар.

Через него можно быстро перейти к одной из лент Twitter (например, «Семья», «Технологии», «Глупые мысли»), конкретным личным диалогам с единомышленниками и хейтерами, последним результатам поиска, данным аккаунта и т.д.

Tapbots сделали ставку на скорость доступа к важным фичам. Если ты пропадаешь в сервисе часами, для тебя это будет ой как актуально.

Если все это не нужно, расширенный сайдбар легким движением руки превращается в элегантные шорты компактный, который не занимает много места на экране.

Можно читать сразу несколько лент

Как и прошлая версия приложения, Tweetbot 3 позволяет читать несколько лент Твиттера одновременно.

Да, ты можешь развернуть программу на весь экран и видеть не одну, а сразу 2-3 важных ленты. Например, здесь ты общаешься с друзьями, читаешь новостные посты из десятков источников по 4-5 темам, следишь за аккаунтами с юмором на злободневные темы — все это будешь видеть на экране Mac сразу.

Теперь ты можешь перемешать ленты Твиттера через Drag-and-drop. Просто берешь целый блок и перетягиваешь в то место интерфейса приложения, где он тебе удобнее. Этого ой как не хватало.

Так же быстро сможешь менять содержимое столбцов, выбирая необходимую ленту в выпадающем меню.

Но все это нужно не всем, поэтому так же просто можно работать с одной единственной лентой со всем подряд.

С темным режимом читать ночью круто

Пока Apple откровенно тянет с добавлением темного режима интерфейса в iOS и macOS, разработчики пилят его сами.

Tweetbot 3 яркий пример удачной реализации ночного интерфейса, который окажется кстати, если читаешь поздно вечером, любишь сидеть без света или просто без ума от темных тем.

Ночная тема в этом приложении мне напоминает самый темный режим из последнего Adobe Photoshop. Один в один, согласен?

Мне кажется, именно темный интерфейс приложений и системы более востребован вечером, чем Night Shift, который искажает цвета для правильно засыпания.

Когда долго работаешь со светлыми цветами вечером, глаза прямо печь начинают, поэтому заостряю на этом внимание. Причем я работаю в очках с линзами со всеми возможными защитами от перегрева и регулярно заливаю глаза каплями. Темный фон на экране помогает лучше.

В Tweetbot 3 еще много классных фишек

Что еще интересного в Tweetbot 3?

Фильтры для лент. Они гибкие и помогут тебе настроить содержимое ленты по своему вкусу, скрыть мусорные сообщения по ключевым словам.

Списки контента. Приложение полноценно работает с созданием уникальных лент по интересам, которые ты можешь смотреть все вместе.

Push-уведомления. Они гибко настраиваются и работают по большинству событий, которые связаны с тобой.

Синхронизация через iCloud. Это удобно, когда листаешь ленту одновременно на iOS и macOS.

Заметки на страницах профилей. Они видны только тебе, с их помощью сможешь записать, зачем именно подписался на конкретный аккаунт.

Несколько учетных записей. У тебя же может быть не только твоя учетка, но и несколько рабочих, это особенно актуально для спецов SMM.

И это далеко не все…

А что, если Twitter будет меняться?

В начале апреля руководство Твиттера заявило, что изменит API сервиса для сторонних клиентов. Это произойдет в ближайшее время, по плану 19 июня.

Last year we announced our plan to retire Site Streams & User Streams, and replace them with the Account Activity API (currently in beta). We are delaying the scheduled June 19th deprecation date.

Что будет с Tweetbot 3? В Tapbots уверяют, это не проблема. Изменения коснутся только личных сообщений, уведомления о которых будут появляться с задержкой в 1-2 минуты. Остальное технические детали, мы не увидим их.

Скорее всего, у разработчиков уже есть информация о новом API, и все необходимое в коде программы уже прописано. Не думаю, что об этом стоит беспокоиться. Эти ребята не подводили, верю им.

Скидок для владельцев Tweetbot 2, который уже удалили из Mac App Store, нет. За Tweetbot 3 просят 749 руб., и он подходит как обычным пользователям, так и отпетым новостникам и представителям других профессий. Если тебя устраивает Web-версия сервиса, это дорого. Если нет — норм. Я забираю.
