Undelete windows 10 portable

Undelete Plus is a quick and effective way to retrieve accidentally deleted files, files removed from the Recycle Bin, in a DOS window, from a network drive, from Windows Explorer with the SHIFT key held down. Since release 2.8 it can clean the disk (free space, cluster tips and directory entries).

Note: Undelete Plus has gone payware. As such, I have made the version I have available for direct download. Please see comments for more download links contributed by donald.

Honestly, when you accidentally delete something important off from your memory card or hard drive, the best solution to take them all back is to copy them back from your prepare drive or card data backups. Therefore, making data backups is really important.
But, if you also unfortunately forget to save data backups on other places, data recovery software is really workable when the previous data is not overwritten by anything new.

DO NOT USE — Total waste of $40 — customer service offensive after I could not get their program to work. I kid you not!

Of course these are minor nitpicks and do not decimate the value of the application. If recovering your files are a life and death situation than this should be the last thing on your mind.

This should be classified as adware. there is a very noticeable «Check for driver updates, Free Scan!» ad (for driver agent) on the top of the program window. The program also connects to the internet, afaik this «feature» can not be turned off.

I’m guessing you wanted the hash (md5 or sha1) of the file to compare to your own copy as well as for me to upload the copy to a filehost somewhere? That’s easy enough for me to do 🙂

@Chris — Oh, sure! After I spend 8 hours slogging through the Internet Netherworld, you have a copy! I believe I got close to the edge of the Internet a couple of times. I couldn’t make out what was on the other side. But, I believe I heard voices. Something’s out there.

@Tertius — It looks like you’ve probably found a copy judging by the Undelete Plus thread in the forums, but if you still needed it, I have a copy of 2.8 (source was the official website when the version was released).

and > Settings >Wipe Free Space (with/without MFT)

awesome!. Thanks for a great utility! I just recovered some important files that were deleted over the network.

This is probably the fifth program that I’ve downloaded and tried SPECIFICALLY because the description says that you can recover files from a network drive and OF COURSE I try the program and NO you can’t. Program is garbage just like the other ones I’ve tried. If the program can’t recover files from a network share don’t say it can to get more people to download it. Garbage.

Be careful about using the Update feature in v2.98 — It launches a download of the latest version (which is NOT freeware). You still have to install the update, and the license agreement (if you bother to read it) DOES state that it will not recover files unless you pay for the program. So you are warned in advance, but not very obviously.

You need to use Universal Extractor to extract the installer, but you only need undelete_plus.exe in the subfolder.

does the english setting affect the file I found some files corrupted

And I didn’t get any nasties with it. And to give even more credit, it just damn well came straight on. No fooling around, hassle, BS, or needing to get or do anything else.

i have used undelete plus to retrieve my files but when i go to restore them they are always corrupted

The fact that it creates a folder and some files (for serving ads) in your user folder is especially heinous: those files might be overwriting parts of the files you want to recover!!

Very poor form. Since you’re supposed to run it from a different drive, it would make so much more sense to save the ad images in a subfolder of the application folder, at least.

Not only is the «recovery» a very slow process, the «recovered» files—which had a «Very Good» chance of restoration according to the program—came out corrupted although the program said the «undeletion» was a success. I definitely would recommend finding something else (preferably without rotating ads, too).

Version 2.96 supports adware. Creates «AdRotator» folder and connects to home. Displays banner ads in top right hand side of program interface. Not for me.

I deleted grandkid photos over the household net. Niether the laptop I was using or the PC recycle bin contained the files. Didn’t want to install anything on the disk, so I found and ran UP from off the Net; got my files back and am a happy camper (I’m off the wife’s shit list!) THANKS!!

Fucking skinning. Unusable on my OS because i use a dark windows colorscheme — therefore, various texts in the app are unreadable.

IMHO, skinning should be mentioned in portable app descriptions, since it can easily make an app difficult or impossible to use (but definatelly ugly to use) on any PC which does not use the default windows colorscheme (or a similiar one).

The latest version — 2.94 — does not display correctly under Vista. The drive letters are not visible unless you move the scroll bar to the right to show them.

Works okay but is very, very slow.

God Bless the makers of this, it has been the first restoration program that I’ve tried and has worked well beyond expectations.

I cannot compare it to Restoration as I have had not had a chance to test that program completely but this one does seem to do everything I could want it for.

The search in the gui is also one of the easiest and best I have seen

The program save in the system reg 3 (no 1) key only if they’re modified by the user:

— restore folder;
— check of keep folder structure

what a terrific piece of kit to have, I accidently deleted some family mpeg videos b4 burning them to dvd and this app saved the day, many thanks to the authors.

NOTE! Be careful to compare to Restoration because it counts deleted folders as files!

Also the wipe option is still there (version 2.5), just right-click and select it from the menu. It was removed?! WTF?!

Tested the wipe feature and no files were found by Restoration. Tried to restore two files and only one was restored with no error messages in the lower panel. I just don’t know if I can trust this program.

And why there are no programs with «wipe deleted folders» feature. Should be really simple I think.

By the way, there is no 2.51 version of this program yet. At least not to my knowledge.. look at the history from the authors website.

i dont get why it needs to write the language setting ‘english’ to registry if thats the default.. i mean why not write it when it’s NOT the ‘default language’ that would make more sence.. unless it checks the language automatically but that wouldn’t hit the nail sence it could of been done on the fly.. without writing anything.. unless user expecityly said «i want this language»..’pow! right in the kisser’

We make a decision to remove wipe feature in Undelete Plus. New 2.42 version is read-only and absolutely safe for your drive.

as JJo warned, I had an automatic CHKDSK running the day later, and the «criminal» files (whose sectors were mismatched) were three of the ones I wiped.

NTFS and Undelete Plus are NOt firiend!

I used an alternative defragmenter and it worked ok. I do not know about MS XP defragmenter.

When you delete / wipe with this program, you are not able to defrag your HD.

A good new: I tested the Wipe Option again (on about 1000 files) and it worked pretty good. Restoration found only three files.

This interface is really good, in comparison to Restoration. But Restoration is able to retrieve more files (if all include checks are selected, in the test 13586 Vs 13489), pretty faster (maybe 4x), and it is able to retrieve files which have been wiped by Undelete Plus. It´a a pity! The Wipe Option would be really nice. Anyway Undelete Plus is very good to work with massive lists of deleted files (seen also by extension) because a quite clever GUI.
