Wireless USB adapters compatible with Windows 10
Would someone please share which wireless adapter they are using that works with Windows 10.
I have been on the net for two days now searching for answers. I bought a WNDA3100v2 that shows to be compatible with 10 after the latest factory download. Trust me it does not work with 10.
Also I had a WN111 that I was using on 7 and it worked for a while after upgrade but then started not waking up after sleep or restart and after a few days does not work at all.
Surely their is some adapter that you can install and it work right off.
Post them up. I don’t care if it’s a ten buck one off of ebay if it would just work.

I suggest you to run the troubleshooter provided in the below Microsoft article and then try to install the network adapter driver.
Press Windows and X key together and select Device Manager.
Locate the Network adapter icon. Right click on the driver icon.
Select Update driver software.
Select «browse my computer for a driver software».
Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.
Select the driver option according your device model and installed.
If this does not work, follow the steps from ‘1’ to ‘3’ and select “Search automatically for the updated driver”.
Choose the same steps to update the driver for keyboard as well.
If issue still persists, I would suggest you to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it works.
Follow the steps provided below to install the drivers in compatibility mode:
Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box «Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows operating system from the drop down.
Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

I did use those suggestions and I could see networks and showed to be connected to mine.
But I could not get through my router to my cable modem. Network map showed me with an X from router to modem.
I finally brought PC into house from garage and plugged into Ethernet and tried same things and my old WN111 came alive. I disabled wire connection and pulled 35meg on speed test wireless.
I did not receive any updates or have a clue what went on but it works now.
Only thing I have to manual connect when I first turn it on, but it will work fine all day long after that.
Really that’s fine with me right now. I returned my new Netgear adapter.
FYI I have two Lenovo PCs in garage. The older one I went form XP to 8 to 8.1 to 10 with older DLink PCI wireless card that pulls 30 to 35 meg with no Windows 10 problems.
The other one I went from 7 to 10 with really no problems other than the wireless issue.
I usw them for ebay sales and testing.
I have a new Dell I bought with 10 on it with no problems and a Toshiba I upgraded to 10 from 7 in dining room with no problems.
Really I’m rolling with 10 just fine.

I did not get an opportunity to see the compatibility mode tab because it turns out I already have the most advanced driver and this is reported to me without any options. The latest driver download (supporting win 8.1) also does not contain any .exe file only, a .dll and .inf file and couple of smaller support files. The properties tabs provide no compatibility option.
I would have to agree with the original poster that there do not currently appear to be ANY wireless adapters advertising themselves as working with Windows 10 and Linksys reported to me today (Oct 13, 2015) through their chat support that NONE of their wireless adapters are compatible with Windows 10.
Also, Windows 10 did not report this issue when surveying my machine, instead telling me everything was compatible with the Win10. I hope whatever MS changed in Windows 10 that is making this such a PITA is going to make wireless performance much better down the road.
Windows 10: USB video adapter compatibility?
I’m currently running Windows 7 Pro on a HP laptop and plan to upgrade to Windows 10. Before I do, however, has anyone heard about any compatibility issues with USB video adapters (specifically, a Tritton See2-UV150)?
I’ve been on the manufacturer’s website and there’s currently no driver update (yet) for Windows 10. I’ve had driver issues with this device before after a computer tech installing a new fan on my laptop decided to do me a favor and cleaned out a bunch of files and it took me two weeks to get the third monitor working again.
I’m willing to just wing in and install the new and improved OS but I’m also wondering if I can «downgrade» back to Windows 7 if I can’t resolve the monitor/driver issue? Thanks.

I have I recently updated to windows 10 on a HP machine using the USB 2.0 SEE2 UV150 External VGA. We use the vga adapter for the kids to see it on a larger screen and had no issues from windows XP to windows 7. When I went to windows 10 it went thru the setup and didn’t work. In the hardware display it showed the exclamation marks or the marks that showed something is wrong. I tried to update the drivers to Windows 8 and it didn’t work as well. When I unplugged the monitor and plug it in the monitor is recognized but just stays black. If it doesn’t get fixed, I will go back to Windows 7 because it worked. Anyone have a fix for this?

I’m having the same problem after an update this morning. I would love to update the usb driver with the manufacturer, but unfortunately I can’t find a link anywhere. I found two independent sources online, but I can’t be sure it’s safe. Can you or anyone provide a safe link where I can safely download the latest usb driver? Thanks.

I resolved my issue by 1st uninstalling the VGA driver for SEE2 UV150 TRIUV150 via the «Uninstall or change a program». Then rebooting the PC’s (had 2 PC’s with the exact same issue), then allowing Windows 10 update to automatically find and install the correct driver. I checked the device manager and Windows installed the driver
(Triger 1+ Graphics Card).
Apparently the old driver for the SEE2 UV150 TRIUV150 USB adapter which we had manually installed originally when we installed the USB adapter was no longer compatible with the latest version of Windows 10 (version 1703). The Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver would attempt to start but then it would unload and we would end up with the default Microsoft Basic Display driver and no 2nd monitor. Although the old original driver had been working perfectly fine with the previous Windows 10 release.
In any case that was what worked for me:
1. Manually uninstall the old driver via
Control Panel -> Uninstall a program
2. Restart the PC
3. Let Windows do its thing and install the driver

Sir, I had the very same problem after i upgraded to the Win10 system from Win7. I tried downloading the most current driver, I ran the automated troubleshooting service, but nothing allowed the computer to recognize the Prolific USB to Serial adapter.
What I did to overcome this was to «roll back» my driver to the 3.3.3.114 dated 2009. I did an internet search for this driver, downloaded the driver and installed the driver. I then switched the comm port I was plugging the Prolific USB Serial Adapter into, to the older driver, and everything worked fine again. Hope this helps.

Chances are the chipset in your converter is not compatible with Windows 10. You need a Prolific 2303HX Rev.D chipset. Auto download of the driver is available but without the chipset it won’t work. Good Luck!
Yes, I believe you are correct that my chipset is not compatible with Win10. Obviously obtaining a new adapter would remedy the issue. However, late at night or if you do not want to be bothered with obtaining a new adapter for something you very infrequently use, downloading the 3.3.3.114 driver dated 2009, installing the driver and rolling the driver back to this 2009 driver for the comm port your connecting the outdated adapter to, does allow you to finish your work without delay.
What I was doing with the Serial/USB adapter was programming a new Motorola two way radio so it could be used in our network. This is a task is something done very infrequently. Finding a way to use my existing serial/USB adapter allowed me to accomplish what I needed to do without waiting to find an adapter supported by Win10.
Hope this helps others that may also be in a bind. I have since, at my leisure, purchased a new Serial/USB adapter supported by Win10 so I can use the programming cable necessary to program any new radios we obtain in the future.
