Help after updating to Windows 10 USB Root Hub (xHCI) has error code 19 and no USB inputs work.

I have seen this problem on Intel and ASUS website, with threads from 2013. I did not have a problem with Windows 8 or 8.1. Now that I have updated to Windows 10 I receive a Code 19 error for the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller — 1.0 (Microsoft). When I uninstall the driver for USB Root Hub (xHCI) my USB will work a couple second after windows loads. Then the USB stops working and the device is detected with the same code 19. Is there anyway to fix this?

We understand that you are receiving a Code 19 error for the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller — 1.0 (Microsoft).

I request you to try the following steps:

Uninstall and Reinstall the USB Drivers.

Step 1: Uninstall the Drivers

a. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

b. Click on “Device Manager” from that list.

c. Search for the USB from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.

d. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.

After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website:

Step 2: Go to the Computer or Network Card manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the USB and then install it by following the instructions given in the website.

I have already been through the process of uninstalling the driver. I do not have an option to check delete the driver though. As far as the the manufacturers website goes, no Windows 10 USB driver is available.

Try to run Hardware Troubleshooter. It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly.

a. Press Windows Logo Key+X then click on Search screen.

b. Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

c. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

d. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue persists, then try to uninstall and re-install the USB drivers.

1. Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click On Device Manager.
2. Then find the driver that you are trying to uninstall and right-click on it to Uninstall.
3. Follow onscreen instructions to uninstall it.
4. To re-install, either you can restart the system or install the driver from the manufacturer’s website (recommended as they will have updated drivers) .
