VIA Chrome9 HC IGP WDDM Driver Problem Win 10

Hello, I have integrated graphic card in my Laptop VIA Chrome9 HC WDDM 1.1, chip type: VIA Chrome9 HC2 IGP, but win 10 not allow this driver to install. Win 10 set windows basic display adapter driver, and when change to VIA Driver system show blue screen with 🙁 and restart.

Can I install this driver on win 10? Is this driver incompatibile with win 10?

In win 8 display adapter driver works fine (for vista on via sites).

But on win rs1 in process installing driver system stop working and windows show blue screen with 🙁 and information about problem: «erorr with file during install VTGKModeDX32.sys», and restart.

File VTGKModeDX32.sys is in driver directory and more files for VIA Chrome9 graphic display adapter driver.

Basic windows display driver is very bad, picture in you tube is bad quality, with all option on use graphic accelerator, etc.

what failed: VTGKModeDX32.sys

After installing driver on Troubleshoot mode same situation with BSOD.

I contacted VIA support as the download link for 32-bit driver was wrong and that was the new download they provided. Seems it was temporal.

The driver(«P4M900(CE)-VN896(CE)-CN896(CE)_Win7_241201t_VIAwSetup_Logod«) is now updated online and contains both 32/64bit versions.

At first this driver didn’t fix my issue on Windows 7 32-bit as I got error in Device Manag er «Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ”. After updating Gigabyte GA-VM900M mainboard BIOS to latest it resolved the issue. It seems there are problems with older VIA vbios which are fixed in latest versions. At last the Aero theme works and offloadsome work from CPU.

You have 64bit or 32bit OS? For 64bit OS I think the driver is the same as one in Windows update catalog, it was 32bit driver which is wrong in MS update (https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=VEN_1106%26DEV_3371)

What device ID you have in device manager for this card? I have VEN_1106&DEV_3371 which is for VIA P4M900 chipset.

Don’t expect much even with correct drivers as the VIA CN896 and P4M900 Chrome9 HC chipset do have only MPEG2 acceleration so the H.264/MPEG4 decoding is all on the CPU. Neverless Google Chrome browser on this URL www.youtube.com/html5 should show that all features are supported.

I also got BSOD 0x0000008e error each time even after installing the latet fixed driver on Windows 7 32-bit but error was resolved only with updating BIOS to latest version. Check if you have latest BIOS for your laptop.
