How to Update ViewSonic Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

Tech Tip: Updating drivers manually requires some computer skills and patience. A faster and easier option is to use the Driver Update Utility for ViewSonic to scan your system for free. The utility tells you which specific drivers are out-of-date for all of your devices.

Step 1 — Download Your Driver

To get the latest driver, including Windows 10 drivers, you can choose from the above list of most popular ViewSonic downloads. Click the download button next to the matching model name. After you complete your download, move on to Step 2.

If your driver is not listed and you know the model name or number of your ViewSonic device, you can use it to search our driver archive for your ViewSonic device model. Simply type the model name and/or number into the search box and click the Search button. You may see different versions in the results. Choose the best match for your PC and operating system.

ViewSonic updates their drivers regularly. To get the latest Windows 10 driver, you may need to go to the ViewSonic website to find the driver for to your specific Windows version and device model.

Step 2 — Install Your Driver

Once you download your new driver, then you need to install it. To install a driver in Windows, you will need to use a built-in utility called Device Manager. It allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.

How to Open Device Manager

In Windows 10 & Windows 8.1, right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager

In Windows 8, swipe up from the bottom, or right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose «All Apps» -> swipe or scroll right and choose «Control Panel» (under Windows System section) -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install drivers using Device Manager

Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

Select the Driver tab.

Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.

Tech Tip: Driver downloads and updates come in a variety of file formats with different file extensions. For example, you may have downloaded an EXE, INF, ZIP, or SYS file. Each file type has a slighty different installation procedure to follow.

Существует целый ряд архиважных критерий, которые помогут вам определиться с выбором оптимального решения:

• диагональ экрана. Диагональ или попросту размер экрана может варьироваться от 15 до 32 дюймов. Для простых домашних целей подойдут решения со стандартной диагональю (17-19 дюймов). Если же монитор будет использоваться в качестве телевизора, мультимедийного либо графического экрана, лучше отдать предпочтение модели с бо́льшим размером;
• формат. Сегодня на рынке, кроме привычных всем устройств формата 4:3, преобладают широкоформатные мониторы с соотношением сторон 16:9/16:10. Их доминирование объясняется тем, что большинство новых фильмов, клипов и игр разрабатываются именно в таком формате;
• разрешение экрана. Под разрешением экрана принято понимать суммарное количество точек-пикселей по вертикали и горизонтали. Чем больше этих точек, тем четче и качественнее изображение. Мониторы с разрешением Full HD (1920х1080 пикселей) – оптимальное решение для любых визуальных целей. Но технологии не стоят на месте и сейчас на рынке доступны модели с более высоким разрешением – 2560х1440 пикселей, которое позволяет разместить на экране несколько окон одновременно;
• подсветка. С целью улучшить цветопередачу дисплея и уменьшить его энергопотребление производители массово внедряют в устройства LED — подсветку (светодиодную). Модели с LED технологией стоят дороже, чем с обычными лампами, но при эксплуатации оказываются довольно энергоэффективными;
• тип матрицы. Стоимость монитора во многом зависит от типа применяемой в нем матрицы. Существуют устройства на матрицах TN , IPS , PLS и VA . Матрицы TN считаются самыми доступными, поскольку они не могут обеспечить широкие углы обзора. Их главное преимущество – минимальное время отклика, что обеспечивает плавность воспроизведения динамического изображения. Матрицы IPS характеризуются максимальными углами обзора, отличной цветопередачей, но не могут похвастаться быстрым откликом. Матрицы PLS обеспечивают высокую яркость и большие углы обзора, но не способны обеспечить быстрый отклик. In addition to integrating the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu controls and advanced settings, the software comes with user friendly color setting features including: Standard Color, ViewMode, Color Temperature, Auto Pivot, PBP and PIP mode, and monitor firmware update. These handy features allow users to quickly adopt color settings based on their preference while also enhancing work productivity.

Standard Color

• Standard Color provides preset color modes* for the user to select based on their preference.
  *Preset color modes might be different based on the monitor’s color display capability.

ViewMode

• Provides presets (Standard, Movie, Game FPS 1/FPS 2, RTS, MOBA, Web, Text, Mac, Designer CAD/CAM, Animation, Video Edit, Retro, Photo, Landscape, Portrait, Monochrome) for the user to select from for the most suitable setting.

Color Temperature

• Color temperature offers specialized presets to fit the different usage scenarios including panel default, bluish, cool, native, warm, and a customizable user slot. The user can set their preferred color temperature according to their preference.

Color Calibration

• Color calibration, with three customizable slots, enables the user to quickly adopt existing calibration settings.

PBP and PIP

• PBP (Picture-by-Picture) and PIP (Picture-in-Picture) enable the user to select from different input sources and increase the number of screens on-screen.
  • PBP mode allows the user to display separate screens from two different sources.
  • PIP mode can display the main input source on the main screen while the second source is displayed in a sub-window. It also allows the user to adjust sub-window size and position based on the user’s preference.

  

  Basic Settings

  • Basic Settings features: Color Adjust, Image Adjust, Audio Adjust, and Input Select.
    • Color Adjust: The user can quickly adjust the brightness and contrast.
    • Image Adjust: The user can quickly adjust the image sharpness and blue light filter.
    • Audio Adjust: Simply drag the bar to increase, decrease, or temporarily mute the volume.
    • Input Select: In addition to Auto Detect, the user can switch between the input options shown on the menu.

    

    Advanced Settings

    • The Advanced Settings include the Information of current display with firmware update. Auto Pivot which lets the user pivot the screen in accordance with the monitor’s layout, and All Recall to revert all settings to default.

    

    • VP3481 and VP3881 do not support the Auto Pivot feature.
    • Support OS: macOS Mojave (10.14.6); macOS Catalina (10.15.4) (Remark: The notarization requirement for Catalina is not complete implemented yet.)
