VOYAGER Linux 14.04.04 LTS

VOYAGER Linux замечательная, шустрая и в тоже время современная французкая операционная система продолжает свою серию релизов. VOYAGER завоевал уже не мало своих постоянных пользователей, которые были в восторге от предыдущих версий.

VOYAGER способен работать как на старых или маломощных компьютерах, так и на самых современных моделях. Данная операционная система подойдет для людей разного возраста. Она содержит в себе оригинальную, современную привлекательную графику.

VOYAGER Linux 14.04.04 X (экспериментальный)

Сейчас представлен новый VOYAGER X 14.04.04 экспериментальный, полностью переработан и основанный на Xubuntu 14.04.02, с новым Xfce 4.12 и новым ядром 3.16. Пакетная база принадлежит Ubuntu LTS 14.04.02 Trusty Tahr.

VOYAGER X приобрел новый красивый облик. Можно с уверенностью сказать: «Чем больше проходит времени, тем прекрасней становиться дистрибутив». Очень прост в использовании, подойдет как начинающим пользователям, так и опытным. Так сказать, VOYAGER открыт для нового и современного мышления.

В новом VOYAGER X 14.04.04 содержится множество тем и обоев. Каждый пользователь может настроить рабочий стол в один клик по настроению. Дистрибутив «из коробки» содержит все нужные программы для рядового пользователя, также имеется доступ к тысячи программ для Ubuntu.

Версия VOYAGER X 14.04.04 несет в себе обновление в техническом плане: новейшее программное обеспечение, исправлены скрипты, эргономические улучшения, новые темы … VOYAGER X 14.04.04 построен вокруг экспериментальной версии нового десктопа Xfce 4.12 и нового ядра 3.16.

VOYAGER X перекодировался, очищался, улучались сценарии для размещения нового Xfce 4.12. Версия X использует последний Xfce 4.12, который ещё не интегрирован в официальный Ubuntu. Существует только дополнительный репозиторий PPA, поэтому VOYAGER X классифицируется как экспериментальный.

Voyager X был испытан без нареканий. Xfce 4.12 в сочетании с новым ядром 3.16 делает VOYAGER более гибким и быстрым дистрибутивом.

VOYAGER 14.04.04 официальный

Официальная версия Voyager традиционно базируется на стандартном Xubuntu с средой рабочего стола Xfce, где содержится предыдущие релиз Xfce и ядра Kernel 3.13.0-46.

Предыдущие версий VOYAGER, также очень хорошо работают. Но кто не любит обновления?

Программное обеспечение в VOYAGER Linux 14.04.04 следующего содержания:

Plank, Conky, Smtube, XBMC Kodi Media Center, Vlc, Parole, Gimp, Clementine, Covergloobus, RadioTray, Slingscold, Skippy, Kazam, Transmission. Обязательный терминал под названием «Терминатор», Moc Audio. Опции диагностики и мониторинга системы в режиме реального времени. Аудит безопасности с помощью Lynis, RkHunter проверка на руткиты, антивирус ClamAV и раздел с набором базовых программ по восстановлению и даже удалению ОС. Для настройки звука присутствует Pulse Audio Equalizer. Cheese, Impulse, Screenlets, Déjà-Dup, Grub Customizer, Bleachbit, Pare-Feu Gfuw, Birdie, Thunderbird, Firefox, Pidgin, Abiword, Gthumb, Synapse, Tilda и многие другие программы.

VOYAGER 14.04.04 будет поддерживаться разработчиком ещё 2 года, до следующей LTS версии. Но так как он основан на Xubuntu 14.04.02 LTS Trusty Tahr, то обновлениями от Xubuntu LTS будет поддерживаться в течение 3 лет, и официальными обновлениями Ubuntu в течение 5 лет.

VOYAGER не будет основываться на Xubuntu c короткими циклами, которые будут обновляться в течение только 6 месяцев. VOYAGER, как и многие другие Ubuntu-подобные дистрибутивы будет основываться только на LTS версиях с долгосрочной поддержкой.

VOYAGER — это дистрибутив, как сказано выше, основанный на Xubuntu, а в свою очередь Xubuntu, производная от Ubuntu со всеми ее официальными документами. Значит, все они имеют одну базу и общее программное обеспечение, те же репозитории, те же APT, то же имя, код и такой же цикл развития.

Таким образом, все возникшие вопросы, по поводу Voyager 14.04.04 можно решить по примеру Ubuntu (на форуме Ubuntu или форуме Хubuntu).

Voyager как и любой другой дистрибутив должен записываться на DVD или USB накопитель через соответствующее программное обеспечение.

Voyage Linux is Debian derived distribution that is best run on a x86 embedded platforms such as PC Engines ALIX/WRAP, Soekris 45xx/48xx/65xx and Atom-based boards.

It can also run on low-end x86 PC platforms. Typical installation requires 256MB disk space, although larger storage allows more packages to be installed. Voyage Linux is so small that it is best suitable for running a full-feature firewall, wireless access point, Asterisk/VoIP gateway, music player or network storage device.

  Вышел Voyage Linux 0.7.5

  Поискал по Хабру, про Voyage ни слуху ни духу. А сегодня как раз вышел очередной релиз этого очень интересного дистрибутива на основе Debian для embedded систем.

  Версия 0.7.5 основана на ядре 2.6.38 и Debian 6.0.2 «Squeeze».

  Следующая планируемая версия 0.8, в которую войдет ядро 3.0.x, и Voyage станет одним из первых дистров на этом ядре.

  Voyage заточен на работу на следующих платформах: PC Engines ALIX/WRAP, Soekris 45xx/48xx и Atom, а также виртуальные машины.

  Отличается Voyage низкими требованиями к ресурсам. Для типичной инсталляции требуется всего 128MB дискового пространства. А вообще фишка Voyage в том, что он использует unioinfs и монтирует всю систему на read-only, таким образом, система на флешке не запиливается.

  Обычно на Voyage делают брэндмауэр, беспроводную точку доступа, IP АТС на базе Asterisk, музыкальный проигрыватель, или сетевое хранилище. Лично у меня Voyage работает на ALIX board с тремя ethernet портами и WiFi картой, является точкой доступа в Internet для офиса (eth0), при этом подключено два провайдера (eth1 & eth2) по PPPoE, один для данных, другой для IP телефонии. Voyage раздает WiFi, и к нему подключены офисный IP телефоны (установлен Asterisk). Покупалось это все тут, но дистрибутив Askozia был снесен и установлен Voyage.

  Except Voyage MuBox, all editions are delivered as distribution tarball and Live CD in i386 architecture. AMD64 architecture is avaialble for Voyage Linux only. We also offer SDK to ease customizing Voyage Linux.

  Voyage Linux and MPD 0.11.0 (silently) released

  We announced the availability of Voyage Linux and MPD 0.11.0 today. This release was actually prepared in Jan 2017. Kernel is now updated to 4.1 series. Please note that this release did very limited tests so thing may break.

  Release highlights:
  — 4.1.6 kernel (-rt for MPD)
  — Jessie 8.7
  — MPD 0.19.12
  — support APU2 board and leds

  There is no plan on Stretch-based release on Voyage Linux and MPD.

  Voyage Linux 0.10.0 released

  Voyage Linux 0.10.0 with Debian 8.0 Jessie is finally released today. Kernel is now updated to 3.16 series. This release is still using sysvinit as the system and service manager instead of systemd in jessie default installation.

  All Voyage Linux users please note that the release cycle of Voyage Linux would be longer in the next releases, at 6-9 months for a new release. Nevertheless, there are still some planned enhancements in the pipeline, e.g. linux kernel 4.0, grub2 and EFI support.

  Voyage MPD 0.10.0 released

  We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage MPD[1] 0.10.0 release.

  This release is based on Voyage Linux 0.10.0 with Debian 8.0, which was released on 26 Apr 2015 . See ChangeLog[2] for more information about changes in 0.10.0 release. In this release, kernel continues to use 3.14.12 real-time kernel but MPD version is updated to 0.19.9. This version also added AirPlay supoprt via the pre-installed shairport daemon.

  Daily is now Debian Jessie

  As Debian Jessie 8.0 has been frozen since last Nov [1] [2], Voyage Linux and MPD daily built is now changed to Jessie. In addition, distribution tarball is now with extension .tar.xz, instead of .tar.bz2, to opt for higher compression rate.

  A new Voyage Linux and MPD will be released soon after Jessie is released. While there is no official release date for Jessie, please stay tuned.

  New Donation of Hifiberry DAC+ and Announcement of Raspberry Pi port

  We are pleased to announced that HifiBerry has donated a DAC+ high-resolution digital-to-analog converter to Voyage Linux community.

  Apart from this donation, today we also announce the kick-off of Voyage Mubox porting to Raspberry Pi. This project not only aims at running MuBox on Raspberry Pi, but also provide seamlessly integration of Voyage MuBox, Raspberry Pi and HifiBerry DAC. As an initial proof of concept, we target to port MuBox to RPi B+ board with HifiBerry DAC+.

  Voyage 0.9.5 released

  It has been a long time not updating Voyage Linux. It is time to announce Voyage Linux 0.9.5, which upgrades to Debian «Wheezy» 7.7 with 3.14.12 kernel.

  PCEngines’ APU board is well tested. However, we don’t have enough time and resource to test on the old ALIX boards. Hence, your feedback and report on ALIX board is very important to us.

  Voyage MPD 0.9.5 released

  We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage MPD[1] 0.9.5 release.

  This release is based on Voyage Linux 0.9.5 with Debian 7.7. See ChangeLog[2] for more information about changes in 0.9.5 release. In this release, we fallback MPD version from 0.18 to 0.17.6. Most of the users reported that this 0.17 version sounds better than the newer 0.18. In addition, this release also uses real-time kernel to reduce jitters when playback music.

  Voyage 0.9.2 released

  We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage Linux 0.9.2, which upgrades to 3.10.11 kernel and is based on Debian «Wheezy» 7.3.

  One noticeable change is that legacy PATA drivers were now replaced by libata ones. User will now see disk device as /dev/sdX instead of /dev/hdX. Please test this release and report any problems and issues in our mailing list. Your support is crucial and encourages us to deliver Voyage Linux releases on regular basis in future.
