Подключение диска по имени устройства

Выполните следующие действия для подключения сетевого диска с помощью компьютера под управлением Windows 10.

  1. Получить имя сетевого устройства My Cloud или сетевого устройства WD.
    • Если имя устройства было изменено, используйте новое имя устройства вместо «Сетевой путь по умолчанию», указанный в таблице ниже.Пример: \\JohnCloud или \\JanePassport
    • Если имя устройства My Cloud не изменилось, используйте «Сетевой путь по умолчанию» в приведенной ниже таблице для устройства WD в вашей сети.

Напечатайте File Explorer в окне поиска Windows.
Click the File Explorer Desktop App to open Windows File Explorer.

    • Там не должно быть никаких сетевых ресурсов под Компьютер или Сеть потому что «Обзор сети» по умолчанию отключен в Windows 10 версии 1709 и выше.
    • Там должен быть My Cloud или My Passport Wireless устройства, которые видны под «Хранилищем».

Утилита WD Access не рассматривается т.к. это лишняя софтина на компе

Подключение диска по IP адресу

Если он известен, конечно. В первый раз это не так. IP можно узнать в Рутере потом настоить диск на фиксированный IP

Сетевые диски WD настроены для DHCP по умолчанию.
Конфигурирование сетевого устройства хранения со статическим IP-адресом или настройка маршрутизатора с резервированием DHCP предотвратит изменение IP-адреса и влияние на установленный диск.

  • Напечатайте File Explorer в окне поиска Windows.

Далее всё так же как и в подключении по имени, только вместо имени в конце подставляется IP

Manually Updating the firmware on your My Cloud

Important: Make sure you stop all processes and save all your data before performing the firmware update.

Note: Do not interrupt the firmware upgrade process. Doing so may cause the device to malfunction or unable to boot.
If you are using the manual update method, do not rename the firmware file. Doing so will cause the manual update to fail and can corrupt the system.

Updating the firmware on your My Cloud
  1. Download the firmware to your desktop.
  2. Unzip the file and you will find the actual firmware in this format: sq-040500-xxx-2017xxxx.deb.
  3. Save this to your desktop.
  4. Open the My Cloud Dashboard UI.
  5. Go to Settings >> Firmware Update.
  6. Under the section Manual Update, click the Update From File button and a window will open.
  7. Browse to where you saved the sq-040500-xxx-2017xxxx.deb file and select it.
  8. You will see a pop up confirming to upgrade your firmware, click Ok.

Western Digital provides source code for GPL packages modified by Western Digital via its support website at http://support.wdc.com/download/gpl/. When applicable, build instructions for modified packages are distributed in the README/INSTALL files provided in the appropriate package folder.

Other packages are integrated as binaries directly from the Debian distribution without modification. Below is an example of how to rebuild a Debian created binary if desired.

Instructions for using Debian to build a package

Refer to Debian documentation for more details: http://www.debian.org/doc/

This is a simple example of building a source package. In this case, building the nano editor using its source package:

  1. Log in through ssh
  2. Remove wd-nas component links in dpkg database:
    rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/info/wd-nas.*
  3. cd into data volume and create build area
    mkdir /shares/Public/build
    cd /shares/Public/build
  4. Edit your /etc/apt/sources.list to point to squeeze distribution:
    deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main
    deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main
  5. Update Debian:
    apt-get update
  6. Get the build dependencies for the package you would like to build. This installs all dependant packages necessary to build the package you wish to build:
    apt-get build-dep nano
    (answer ‘Y’ to all prompts)
  7. Get the source package and build it!
    apt-get -b source nano
