On attempting to open up OneKey Recovery on Windows 10 — I’m getting the message «The app has been blocked for your protection» — I’ve seen there’s ways of getting beyond this with Command and activating Super Administrator but that’s not a permenant thing and since it’s my friends laptop I don’t wish to have the Super Administrator blocked all the time since his kids does downloading more than my friend does. Is there anyway around so my friend can back it up in a simple manner or is there a Lenovo OneKey recovery for Windows 10 somewhere? Thanks 🙂

OneKey Recovery was found to be not compatible with Windows 10. In an Windows 10 Upgrade Guide published back in 2015 it was recommended to uninstall OneKey Recovery prior to upgrading to the latest version of Windows.

Maybe you have misunderstand that prompt. «The app has been blocked for your protection» means that your computer can’t run lenovo onekey recovery due to anti-virus software or you can’t get the authentication of admin. What you should do is close the anti-virus. But How possible? Lenovo OneKey Recovery should enter PE. Maybe you can unistall anti-virus software and try it again. If it is still won’t work, you have to call Lenovo technical support.

If you don’t want to use the above way, maybe you can turn your help to other software. Actually, many software is beyond software produced by compuer manufacturers. AOMEI OneKey Recovery is good one. I have been using it on my Lenovo computer. Good Luck.

I am also having this issue with Ideapad Z580. I am getting the prompt like «One Key Recovery has stopped working.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available».

I guess as you say it should be due to compatibility issue with Windows 10.

That leaves us with the only option to use the Recovery Option in Control Panel. But to take a back up at the current level of HDD it calls for at least 16GB plus. It says if I submit YES, it will wipeout the preloaded software that came with WD Passport Device. It forces one to buy another device of 64GB/128 GB size so that it could be often used as a Recovery / recovery updation media.

Any one in the Community as any solution to this issue?

Here is how to Fix This Program has been blocked for your protection in Windows 10

1:- Open the “Settings” app. You can open this app just by pressing “Windows key+I”.

2:- Click on “Network and Internet” Settings.

3:- Click on “Wi-Fi” setting provided at the left sub menus settings, if you are connected to internet via Wi-Fi.

Click on “Internet Options” if you are connected via Ethernet cable.
