Adobe Flash Player

Данный плагин устанавливается автоматически вместе с одноименной программой, которую можно скачать на официальном сайте Adobe.

RealPlayer

Плагин RealPlayer не только предоставляет возможность просмотра видео различных форматов через браузер Opera, но и скачивание его на жесткий диск компьютера. Среди поддерживаемых форматов, такие редкие, как rhp, rpm и rpj. Устанавливается он вместе с основной программой RealPlayer.

QuickTime

Плагин QuickTime является разработкой компании Apple. Поставляется он вместе с одноименной программой. Служит для просмотра видео различных форматов, и музыкальных треков. Особенностью является возможность просмотра роликов в формате QuickTime.

DivX Web Player

Как и у предыдущих программ, при установке приложения DivX Web Player, в браузер Opera инсталлируется одноименный плагин. Он служит для просмотра потокового видео в популярных форматах MKV, DVIX, AVI, и других.

Windows Media Player Plugin

Плагин Windows Media Player является инструментом, который позволяет интегрировать браузер с одноименным медиапроигрывателем, изначально встроенным в операционную систему Windows. Данный плагин разрабатывался специально для браузера Firefox, но позже был адаптирован и для других популярных браузеров, включая Оперу. С его помощью, можно просматривать в интернете видео различных форматов, включая WMV, MP4 и AVI, через окно браузера. Также, имеется возможность воспроизводить видеофайлы, уже загруженные на жесткий диск компьютера.

tornado5 добрый день.Спасибо за проявленное человеколюбие.Плясал с бубнами три дня, перепробовал все новые версии Оперы и FP — всё тщетно, видеоролики в Рамблере (да и в Яндексе тоже) так и не ожили (хотя в Tрубе пляшут).И вдруг свершилось чудо — на каком-то украинском сайте увидел заметку- Опера старше 36 (у меня она и есть) в XP больше не поддерживается с какого-то числа 2016 года.Обидно, что на официальном сайте об этом ни гу-гу.

Здравствуйте!Совсем вот-вот у меня в свежих версиях Opera (установлена на Linux Mint18.1)перестал воспроизводиться Flash контент на некоторых сайтах;при этом с Yotube трансляция идёт и с многих других сайтов тоже.тут пишется,что в новых версиях Opera какой-то не тот движок,и посему нельзя установить другие плагины (кроме Adobe Flash).Что делать?

Здравствуйте, все верно — Опера уже давненько использует новый движок Blink и половина перечисленных в статье плагинов с ним попросту несовместима, с этим ничего не поделать (разве что устанавливать старую, неактуальную 5 лет версию Opera на движке Presto, но это так себе выход, тем более неизвестно, какие из этих плагинов работают на Линукс). Словом, вторая часть статьи вам не подходит в принципе.

На YouTube и некоторых других сайтах не используется Flash — за воспроизведение там отвечает плеер, написанный на HTML5. Скорее всего, именно поэтому у вас половина видео работает, а половина — нет.

Как, возможно, вы уже могли заметить, наш сайт в большей степени посвящен Windows, а не Linux, в этой области вам больше могут помочь специализированные ресурсы и форумы. Но сперва просто попробуйте переустановить Flash Player через Менеджер Synaptic или сразу же выполнить команды установки плеера в Терминале. Если не ошибаюсь, это:
sudo apt-get install pepperflashplugin-nonfree
или
sudo dpkg-reconfigure pepperflashplugin-nonfree
Либо поищите нужные команды самостоятельно, только стоит отметить, что Adobe свой Флеш Плеер уже не разрабатывает под Линукс, поэтому лучше установить Pepper Flash Player, который по своей функциональности и отображению видео ничем не отличается от конкурента Adobe.

Уважаемая Анастасия Викторовна!По Вашей развёрнутой подсказке установил через Терминал Pepper Flash Player.Но к сожалению проблема никуда не исчезла.Может быть потому.что не удалил Adobe,но вполне возможно ,что по причине того,что Менеджер обновлений не хочет работать.Буду пытаться дальше искать способ исправления;как только что-то получится-отпишусь. С благодарностью Дмитрий.

Widevine content decryption module opera linux

There are new changes with the release of Ubuntu 19.10 that interrupt Opera’s support for Widevine and H.264 videos. Note that this solution assumes you have Google Chrome installed. I’ve only had time to test this on Ubuntu.

With previous iterations of Ubuntu (e.g. 18.04 and 19.04) I was had widevine (Netflix, Amazon Prime) and H.264 (YouTube) support with a simple adjustments. You need to copy over Google Chrome’s libffmpeg.so file over to Opera’s directory

However, in Ubuntu 19.10 things changed a bit. The libffmpeg.so file moved to /usr/share/code/libffmpeg.so . The fix was fairly easy

This returned support for H.264 videos (YouTube). But widefine was still missing. Again, files moved with Ubuntu 19.10’s release. Here is where I found the necessary libwidevinecdm.so file.

Looking at Opera’s files we can see that it utilizes Google’s files once again.

So the fix is to copy that livwidevinecdm.so to one of those directories. The above command does so.

I hope this helps anyone out there encountering this problem. Comments and suggestions are welcome (especially for non-Ubuntu distributions).

I’ve had some issues with the chromium bundled ffmpeg library but iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt works just fine.

@romanzipp are you using Google Chrome from https://www.google.com/chrome/ ? You should download the .deb file from that source to install Google Chrome. Don’t use Chromium or snap to install Google Chrome. This applies to Opera as well. Download Opera from https://www.opera.com/download .

have u got any news on netflix and Widevine? I’m not able to play videos on my ubuntu 19.10 and Opera 66.0.3515.72.

Newbie here to the forum, though not to Linux OR to Chromium-based browsers; I’ve been building browser packages for the Puppy Linux community for some years. These often have to be modified from ‘standard’ layout to accommodate Puppy’s ‘run-as-root’ model.

Many of my community compatriots used to be enamoured of the old Opera 12, based on the ‘Presto’ engine. Me, I could never get the hang of its ‘quirky’ way of doing things.

I regularly produce packages for Chrome itself, Iron & SlimJet, in addition to Opera, which I’ve only turned my attention to this last few months. I have to confess, I DO like it!

Now then; to echo nesar77 above. what is it with the current Opera 66 releases? It’s the same story for any of the Chromium-based browsers since they moved to v78 onwards, and this darned WidevineCDM sub-directory, with all its associated extra crap. although I’m pleased to see that Opera hasn’t bothered with it. I especially like the .json files in /opera/resources; the ‘preloads’ make it easy to locate stuff & configure it.

‘Portable’ applications are very popular with Puppy users in general, given that many of us still use hardware that a lot of you would have probably consigned to the ‘tech’ scrap-heap years ago.. With low system resources, being able to run things external to the system is a god-send, since in many cases we can run ’em from a flash drive.

So; in addition to others, I’ve recently been building Opera as a ‘portable’, self-contained item, with its profile and everything else internal to the portable’s directory. along with a user-triggered auto-updater for PepperFlash. It all works very well. With assistance from one or two other community members, we’ve been using the ‘tee’ command in the portable’s ‘launch’ script, which then points to a wrapper I put together to fire Opera up. (We tried starting Opera directly as in the .deb package, but with Pup’s odd way of doing things, all these Chromium-based browsers need wrappers to start ’em. )

The ‘tee’ command has been used to re-write the paths in the ‘resources’ directory’s .json files, so that Opera always has absolute paths for libwidevine, PepperFlash and libffmpeg. Remember, this is a ‘portable’, so can be run from anywhere. Literally. That being the case, of course, the absolute paths are going to keep changing as you move it from one location to another.

But from v66 onwards, no matter what I do, I cannot make Opera ‘see’ libwidevine at all. Creating /opt/google/chrome/libwidevinecdm.so was one of the first things I tried; NetFlix turned its nose up, and insisted that libwidevine simply didn’t exist. Using the ‘tee’ command makes it virtually impossible for the browser NOT to find the item in question, because those paths are re-evaluated/re-written every time you fire Opera up.

Curiously, examining the ‘components’ lists in both Chrome and Opera reveals one telling difference. In Chrome, every item in that list has a version number; if things update, the number changes. In Opera’s list — which is rather shorter — everything has a version number, except WideVine. It only has 0.0.0.0 showing, no matter how many times you try to update. This is the one thing NetFlix insists you try to ‘update’, when WideVine doesn’t function as it should. except it ain’t doing what it’s supposed to do!

Sorry for the length of this missive, but NetFlix is kind of a ‘prerequisite’ for me. Anybody have any other ideas on this one? I’m always open to suggestions, ‘cos when I get these browser builds to behave themselves, it benefits the whole community, y’see.

@leocg version 58 still doesn’t work with widevine in linux for me.

I think the only long term solution to this problem is to actually compile from the sources and use the options that include Widevine and distribute that to Linux. I doubt Opera has any prioritised interests in this since it is a closed source browser
they are giving out no compensation.

Too bad Opera doesn’t support widevine on linux. It is a great web browser with very nice features but I usually watch netflix and have whatsapp on another tab firefox to be aware of my messages while charging my phone.

Please Opera, fix this!!

No spotify support eigther?

Just don’t say ther was no linux user support. It was opera that didn’t support Linux at least as Firefox or Chrome does..

Can you prove that spotify needs widevine to work? I have no account there and I do not intend to make one so as to check.
I know that netflix does need widevine, but I have never heard about spotify needing it too.

On Opera for Windows I could not make spotify Play, probably since it was downloading widevine. I tried music.google.com and I could not play music eigther, but after a minute I was able to play on both of them.

I really like Opera, it has very nice features but it lacks of widevine. I saw that there is a config file pointing to google chrome,s widevine libraries but it still does not work..

I hope this is fixed soon and I bet many Linux users would use Opera as default.

Opera Linux is still blocking flash content.

I right click and choose Run Plugin and it still does not work.

The NPAPI plugin flashplugin supported DRM until version 11.2.202.644. The PPAPI pepper-flash has never supported DRM at all. As of May 2017, there is no known way to use Flash DRM content with the current versions both plugins.

DRM content on Flash still requires HAL to play. This is apparent for example with WatchESPN, HBO GO, or Demand 5 (Channel 5 UK). If you attempt to play a DRM-protected content without HAL, you may see the following error: an error occurred and your player could not be updated.

To deliver DRM-protected content, Flash calls several functions provided by the HAL daemon and its libraries. While Flash-based players remain popular, HAL has been deprecated and is not commonly installed on newer systems. To provide the necessary HAL functionality on such systems, you can either install the full HAL package and run the HAL daemon or install a modified HAL library «stub» that uses the modern UDisks daemon instead.

Food for thought

On Google Chrome I enabled flash playback with no success, it might be what you mentioned.

Flash on firefox for linux works great as well as widevine on both firefox and google chrome.

Unfortunately Opera does not and there seems no interest in opera to fix this.
