Пасхальные яйца в компьютерных программах — это скрытые послания разработчиков пользователям. Для активации пасхального яйца нужно знать определенную последовательность действий. Это может быть текст, картинка, или даже мини-игра.

Если в paint выделить фрагмент изображения, выставить «выделение без фона» и попытаться перетащить его с зажатой клавишей Shift, то изображение оставит за собой шлейф.

Откройте Nero Burning ROM. Нажмите Help — About (Справка — О программе). После этого дважды щелкните по картинке справа. Снизу появится «бегущая строка» с именами разработчиков. Если нажать Ctrl+Shift, строка ускорится.

Открываем программу, нажимаем Help — About (Помощь — О программе). Возле надписи информации есть значок. Щелкаем по нему несколько раз.

Открываем блокнот и пишем туда «bugaga». Сохраняем как *.exe, например test.exe, после чего запускаем. В консольном окне начинает беспорядочно бегать курсор.

Запустить WinAMP и набрать nullsoft, нажимая после каждой буквы L клавишу esc. Смотрим в заголовок.

Отрываем Microsoft Word. Эта возможность — уже классика, так что работать будет в любой версии, начиная с 2000. Набираем =rand() и нажимаем enter.

Открываем документ и нажимаем Ctrl+Alt+правый плюс. Для отмены нажать ещё раз и нажать «Отмена».

Небольшой заговор против демократии и гражданского общества. Написать фразу «правоспособность-способность лица иметь гражданские права и нести обязанности» и нажать Enter, он немедленно закрывается, без сохранения и объяснения причин…

Открываем калькулятор Windows и на цифровой клавиатуре набираем 2 + 2 * 2. Смотрим на результат. Теперь меняем вид (обычный\инженерный) и набираем то же самое. Смотрим на результат снова.
Примечание: это не пасхалка, а особенность работы. Однако, весьма любопытная.

есть два «пасхальных яйца», которые можно увидеть через меню Помощь > О µTorrent:
— если в появившемся диалоговом окне «О µTorrent» нажать мышкой на логотипе программы, то прозвучит небольшая синтезированная мелодия
— если нажать T на клавиатуре, то можно будет сыграть в µTris (вариант Тетриса).

— Создайте новую папку (проводником, а не тотал коммандером) в любом месте, там где удобнее.

Windows 10 Easter Eggs (2021 Edition)

Windows 10 is Microsoft’s latest operating system. It’s even going to be the last version. But don’t worry because instead of Microsoft releasing new operating systems every year, they are releasing feature updates twice a year.

It’s nearly easter so we’re going to share some easter eggs hidden in Windows 10.

The ‘con’ folder

Did you know that you can’t create a folder with the name ‘con’ in Windows? It’s true.

The reason behind this is that it references things to do with ‘System Actions’ or devices. You can’t create folders with themes names either: AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, and CON1.

Active the secret ‘Retail Mode’

The hidden Demo Mode in Windows 10 clears all of your settings, documents, and applications and provides you with the same experience you would see in shops.

To enable it, go to the Settings app and navigate to the Update and Security section. Then click on the Activation page.

Click on ‘Windows 10’ at the top of the screen five times. You should now see a prompt asking you if you would like to enable Retail Mode. If you want to then you can follow through with the prompts.

Please don’t try this method on your computer as it will erase everything on your computer.

Easily find documents

If you have documents in many folders it can sometimes be hard to find them. In Windows 10, you can search for the file format and it will display all of your files of that specific file format.

For example if I wanted to find all PowerPoint files, I would search ‘.ppt’.

Dark Mode

If you would prefer that your Modern apps had a black background instead of being white then this is for you.

To enable Dark Mode, go to your Settings app and navigate to the Personalization section. Then click on the ‘Colours’ page. At the bottom of the page, you can choose whether you would like to use the ‘Dark’ or ‘Light’ mode.

God Mode

‘God Mode’ as it’s called is a shortcut to a Master version of the Control Panel that has extended settings.

To enable it, create a new folder with the name GodMode.. You’ll now have a shortcut to the Master Control Panel of Windows.

Rotate your screen

Don’t know how useful this is but Windows allows you to rotate your screen by pressing a few keys on your keyboard.

Just press Ctrl + Alt + D plus anyone of the control arrows.

Play Rock Paper Scissors with Cortana
If you type in Rock Paper Scissors into Cortana, she’ll play along with you. Similarly if you need to flip a coin. Just ask Cortana, Flip the Coin.

Star Wars Movie

Alright, two things, one this is not actually part of Windows itself and two, you don’t really get the whole movie (or at least not in the way you have before).

The first thing you need to do is open the Run window. You can do this by pressing the Windows key and the ‘R’ key at the same time.

When the Run window opens, type in ‘C:\Windows\System32\OptionalFeatures.exe’. Then press enter.

In this window, click on the checkbox next to ‘Telnet Client’. Now you can close this.

Again, open the Run window by pressing both the Windows key and the ‘R’ key at the same time. This time, type in ‘telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl’.

Now you should see one of the Star Wars movies being broadcast to you via a black and white command line.

Show Desktop Button
Because your computer’s task-bar is always in your view, unless you changed that setting, you may think you’re aware of all it has in store. But, have you ever looked in the very bottom right corner of your screen and noticed a thin, white line? That, my friends, is Windows’ well-hidden “show button”. By clicking in this area, you can minimize every open window on your monitor at once.

Shake to Minimize
While on the topic on minimization, Windows 10 offers users another quirky way of hiding running applications. Simply Grab the top tab of an open window and give your mouse a slight shake. Aside from the window you’re currently grasping, all others should quickly flee the screen. With one more quick shake, all windows should return to their prior state.

Cortana Voice Activation
Although Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri have reigned supreme over the consumer artificial intelligence marketplace, it’d be a mistake to discredit Microsoft’s AI companion, Cortana. While, upon default, Cortana only responds to typed commands, a setting can be altered to make the software responsive to audio cues. After clicking within Cortana’s task-bar search box, you can then select the settings icon, opening a window that allows you to edit how you interact with the program. By checking the setting under “hey Cortana”, you can use the AI as you would similar voice-initiated devices.

Cortana games
Now that you have Cortana set to activate upon voice dictation, there’s plenty of secret commands for you to explore. Of course, while Cortana can answer some of life’s more important questions, such as “where can I find reliable IT services in Duluth, GA?”, the program’s visual interface allows for the displaying of unique content. For example, when asking Cortana to flip a coin or roll the dice, the software will accompany its audio with fun graphics, as seen below.

Notification Control
There are occasions when you may find yourself needing to cut distractions, buckle down, and get work done. With Windows 10’s Focus Assist feature, you’re given the power to either filter or completely block all notifications for a designated period of time. To access this setting, click the start icon in the bottom-left of the task-bar, then select settings > system > Focus Assist.

Windows timeline
Has there ever been a time you find yourself deeply focused on your work, only to be interrupted, ultimately losing your train of thought? If so, Windows 10’s timeline feature can help get you back on track within a matter of seconds. By pressing the Windows key + Tab, you’ll open a backlog of your most recent work and applications. Clicking on one of these items will get you right back into the action, saving you both time in frustration.

Stop background apps
After installing an application on a smartphone, you may see a pop-up notification, asking for permission to continuously run in the background of the device. While accepting these terms give you access to location-based services and regularly refreshed content, doing so has the potential to increase your data usage and drain your battery-life. With that said, some Windows 10 applications are no different. If these settings are left untouched, some power-hungry applications can strain your PC’s hardware, wasting precious bandwidth and battery in the process. Please be aware, changing these settings has the potential to make some applications unresponsive to future updates. Therefore, Rocket IT does not suggest turning off those apps you most regularly use. To restrict which apps run in the background of your PC, click the start icon, then settings > privacy > background apps.

Application switcher
Despite Microsoft having implemented an application switcher in previous iterations of its operating system, this function got a much-needed face-lift with the oncoming of Windows 10. By pressing Alt + Tab, large thumbnails of each open application will appear in the middle of your desktop. As you continue to press Alt + Tab, you’ll cycle through this menu, giving you the ability to quickly shift back and forth between projects. This greatly cuts down upon the time it takes to sort between open windows, keeping your workflow steady.

Fix Blurry Apps
Because monitors are manufactured in various sizes, each requiring a different resolution for optimum performance, designing applications to look good across devices can prove difficult for developers. To help combat this problem, Windows 10 introduces an advanced scaling feature, capable of making compatible applications appear less blurry. To activate this feature, navigate to the start button, then click settings > systems > display > advanced scaling settings.Audio source switching

As Bluetooth technology has continued to advance, it has become remarkably easy to simultaneously connect multiple wireless audio output sources to a single device. Thankfully, Windows 10 has fully embraced this functionality, giving users the ability to quickly switch between audio equipment from the comfort of the task-bar. To do so, simply click the volume control icon near the bottom-right corner. From here, if you have two or more devices connected, you can rotate between them by clicking the arrow icon above the volume slider.

Bonus Tip:
For those individuals that want to take this hidden feature a step further, you can customize the audio output device for each of your applications. To access these settings, right-click the volume control icon in the task-bar. From there, click open sound settings and scroll down until you see the app volume and device preference button. Once open, you can alter the output device of each application, giving you the option to simultaneously stream audio from your speakers and headphones.

While this list of Easter eggs demonstrates the customization options available in Windows 10, this is only a glimpse into the operating system’s settings. Upon digging deeper into Microsoft’s documentation, there are a plethora of undisclosed features, capable of drastically improving your workflow and quality of life.

On a more important note, it’s crucial to remember that beginning January 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide extended support to Windows 7. Therefore, by proactively transitioning to Windows 10 in 2019, you can ensure that your PC remains up-to-date, secure and compatible with new applications. «Звездные войны» в командной строке

Невероятно, но в командной строке Windows можно посмотреть фильм. Конечно, не настоящий — а текстовый. Это так называемая ASCII-анимация.

Нажмите сочетание клавиш Win + R и введите команду OptionalFeatures.exe. Откроется окно «Компоненты Windows». Найдите пункт Telnet Client и поставьте галочку напротив. Нажмите ОК и, если понадобится, перезагрузите компьютер.

Теперь снова вызовите приложение «Выполнить» через Win + R. На этот раз введите команду telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl и нажмите Enter. Если все было выполнено правильно, то откроется окно командной строки. Вы увидите текстовую интерпретацию фильма «Звёздные войны. Эпизод IV: Новая надежда». «Властелин колец»

Кроме «Звездных войн», в Windows 10 можно увидеть отсылку и к другому не менее популярному фильму «Властелин колец». Зайдите в «Параметры», через сочетание Win + I или правый клик на кнопке «Пуск». Найдите «Специальные возможности», далее пролистайте вниз и выберите пункт «Скрытые субтитры».

Порт 666 для Doom

Легендарный шутер Doom, вышедший в 1993 году, использовал порт 666 для сетевой игры. Изначально это, конечно, была пасхалка от Id Software, разработчиков игры. Но тем не менее порт до сих пор зарезервирован за игрой.

Убедиться в этом можно самостоятельно. Пройдите по пути C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Откройте файл services в любом текстовом редакторе. Найдите порт 666 и посмотрите на название слева от него.

Режим бога

В Windows 10 можно войти в так называемый режим бога (англ. God Mode). Это даже не пасхалка, а скорее скрытая возможность. Создайте папку в любом месте и присвойте ей имя GodMode., где вместо GodMode можно написать любую фразу.

После этого значок папки должен измениться. Здесь в удобном виде собраны настройки системы. К слову, это не единственная секретная папка в Windows. Так, можно создать полнофункциональные папки «Этот компьютер» или «Корзина» в любом удобном месте. Нужно лишь знать идентификатор, то есть текст, который идет после точки. Список идентификаторов (GUID) доступен на сайте Microsoft.

Устаревшие функции

Забавная деталь, которая остается в системе еще со времен DOS. Вы не сможете назвать папку следующими именами: CON, PRN, AUX, LPT#, COM#, NUL, CLOCK$. В DOS эти названия были зарезервированы для устройств. Конечно, вам вряд ли это когда-либо может понадобиться. Но тем не менее интересно, что такие ограничения тянутся от самых первых версий операционной системы Microsoft.
