Can you give a help on this?

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

SAS Controller isn’t using any resources because it has a problem.

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D6B&SUBSYS_158B103C&REV_05\4&c64b517&0&0088 requires further installation.

That is not the LSI SAS2308 controller you need the driver for.

You need this driver.

This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise (RSTe) Drivers and Graphical User Interface (GUI) for serial ATA (SATA) RAID controllers in supported workstation models that are running a supported Microsoft Windows Operating System.

Says I had a newer version already installed and, even installing this older one, the problem persists. Any other way I can fix it?

Try manually installing the driver as follows.

Go to the device manager and click on the device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.

Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp98397

Make sure the include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted.

SAS Drivers for ODBC

SAS Drivers for ODBC enable you to access, update, and manipulate SAS data from ODBC-enabled applications, such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Visual Studio, and Delphi. SAS Drivers for ODBC provide read and write access to databases such as IBM DB2 and Oracle via SAS/ACCESS software running on remote SAS servers. Furthermore, SAS views can be defined to join database tables from different vendors, creating a virtual data warehouse for your ODBC-enabled applications.

There are download packages for the SAS Drivers for ODBC on two platforms:

• the download package for the Windows platform installs the 32-bit driver version on 32-bit editions Windows 7 and Windows 8
• the download package for the Windows x64 platform installs the 32-bit and 64-bit driver versions on 64-bit (x64) editions of Windows 7 and Windows 8

SAS Drivers for ODBC uses the TCP/IP protocol to access your data on a local or remote data server on a variety of host platforms. It is not required that the SAS system be installed on the client machine in order to access remote SAS data (SAS/SHARE server) via SAS Drivers for ODBC. Accessing local SAS data requires Base SAS software to be installed on the client machines. A remote server requires that Base SAS software, plus the licenses for SAS/SHARE and SAS/SHARE*NET products, are installed.

Accessing SPDS

The SAS Drivers for ODBC also enables access to SAS Scalable Performance Data Server. SAS data sets and SPDS data sets are interchangeable via use of the LIBNAME statement engine option in either SAS or SPDS. The SAS SPD Server product is multi-threaded server software which takes advantage of Symmetric Multiprocessor hardware to speed up access to SAS data. Upon termination of the license to use the Software, Customer agrees to delete and destroy the Code and certify to SAS that the Code has been deleted and destroyed.

SAS’ LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ARISING AS A RESULT OF CUSTOM OR USAGE IN THE TRADE OR BY COURSE OF DEALING. SAS’ LICENSORS PROVIDE THEIR SOFTWARE «AS IS.»
