Installation and configuration instructions for Windows 10 20H2.

Download the latest Windows 10 image and create the installation media using the Media Creation Tool or Rufus.

Create the file \sources\ei.cfg on the installation media.

Create the file \sources\pid.txt on the installation media if Channel is Retail .

Copy this repo and the latest graphics drivers installer to the installation media.

Set the BIOS date and time to the current local time.

Keep the system disconnected from the network.

Boot the installation media.

Choose a single word username starting with a capital letter to keep the %UserProfile% path consistent and free from spaces.

Verify Windows flavor and version with Start > «winver» .

Modify and execute setup/system.ps1 using the «Run with PowerShell» context menu repeatedly until it stops rebooting the system.

Disable automatic driver application installation.

1. Reboot the system.
2. Connect to the Internet.
3. Install Windows updates.
4. Repeat the «Setup» step.

Reboot the system.

Settings that have yet to be incorporated into the setup/system.ps1 script.

1. Install res/keymap.zip to input German characters on a U.S. keyboard.
2. Configure Windows language preferences in Settings.
3. Disable keyboard layout preload.

Reboot the system.

Create Network Connections shortcut in powershell.exe .

Move unwanted Windows libraries.

1. Right click on %UserProfile%\Pictures\Camera Roll and select «Properties».
   Select the «Location» tab and change the path to %AppData%\Pictures\Camera Roll .
2. Right click on %UserProfile%\Pictures\Saved Pictures and select «Properties».
   Select the «Location» tab and change the path to %AppData%\Pictures\Saved Pictures .
3. Right click on %UserProfile%\Videos\Captures and select «Properties».
   Select the «Location» tab and change the path to %AppData%\Videos\Captures .

Configure Indexing Options to only track the «Start Menu» and rebuild the index.

Disable all rules in Windows Firewall except the following entries.

Enable inbound rules for Core Networking Diagnostics — ICMP Echo Request (ICMPv…-In) .
Modify Private,Public rules for ICMPv4 and ICMPv6 inbound rules and select Any IP address under Remote IP address in the Scope tab.

• Install Microsoft Edge and configure settings.
• Install Microsoft Office and configure settings.
• Install Windows Terminal and configure settings.

Configure autostart options.

Install «Creation» software.

Install «Administration» software.

Install «Development» software.

Install or restore portable 64-bit third party software.

Install or restore portable 32-bit third party software.

Disable Affinity update checks.

Install dictionaries in Affinity using the following schema.

Configure LMMS paths on first startup.

• Replace %UserProfile%\Documents with %UserProfile%\Music .
• Use PortAudio with WASAPI backend.

Windows 10 Sophia Script

A PowerShell module for Windows 10 fine-tuning and automating the routine tasks 🏆

Available in:

• Due to the fact that the script includes more than 150 functions with different arguments, you must read the entire Sophia.ps1 carefully and comment out/uncomment those functions that you do/do not want to be executed. Every tweak in the preset file has its’ corresponding function to restore the default settings.
• Running the script is best done on a fresh install because running it on wrong tweaked system may result in errors occurring.

Expand the archive;

Open folder with the expanded archive;

Look through the Sophia.ps1 file to configure functions that you want to be run;

• Comment out function with the # char if you don’t want it to be run;
• Uncomment function by removing the # char if you want it to be run.

Click «File» in File Explorer, hover over «Open Windows PowerShell», and select «Open Windows PowerShell as Administrator» (how-to with screenshots);

Set execution policy to be able to run scripts only in the current PowerShell session

Type .\Sophia.ps1 to run the whole preset file;

• Regardless of the functions entered as an argument the Checkings function will be executed first, and the Refresh and Errors functions will be executed at the end;
• The quotation marks required.

How to translate

• Get your OS UI culture by $PSUICulture .
• Create a folder with the UI culture name;
• Place your localized Sophia.psd1 file into this folder.

This repo contains multiple scripts to optimize windows 10

Just lunch the «ALL_IN_ONE_Executor.bat» and it will run all files but «Disable_Action_Center.reg» and «Activate Windows Old Photo Viewer on Windows 10» (if you want them aswell just add them to the file)

Toggles between dark mode and default theme (just click on the appropriate .bat file for the desired action)

Disables Prefetch and Superfetch services which are useless on a SSD based OS

Activate_Windows_Old_Photo_Viewer_on_Windows 10.reg

Activates window’s old photo viewer

RemoveXboxAppsBloat.bat

Removes the Xbox Apps bloatware

So, by now we all know Windows 10 and all the new things are nice and some are useless — but there is no way remove them and stop them from using our resources. So here where Toggle Tweaker comes in. Using this tool you can remove stuff like windows apps _ Cortana _ Edge and almost everything have a restore option!

After Downloading this batch file you run it and then :

• Click on the Title Bar and then click Properties
• Disable QuickEdit Mode
• (For better UX)in the Font tab Put the font to ‘Consolas’ and the size to ’16’ or whatever looks good on your screen

You should know that in the search the numbers shown are the buttons numbers that you should click from teh Main menu to get to that option

For exemple If you have this line in the output and it’s the option you are looking for Remove/restore Windows built-in apps from Users : 2=>1 You go back to the main Page click on Button Number 2 and then number 1

Some parts of the code are somewhat still slow (Like PC Performance Section _ What an irony) So if you can get to that part and you have a better idea on how to do that thing or a ready2use code i will be happy to go through your feedback

The Batch script runs automatically as admin

The Batch script automatically check for updates at start *Sometimes Upload sites block my accounts due to high traffic in free accounts. if that doesn’t work you can’t access this script so you need to add this code to line 93 : GOTO MainMenu

Just wanted to note that I didn’t write all these code myself, some options are using other scripts or tools either downloading them or writing and using them So Thanks to the people who created those.
