Perform clean boot on your computer to identify which application is causing this error.

Starting your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. This kind of startup is known as a «Clean boot.»

To perform a clean boot on a computer, follow these steps.
a. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

d. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.

f. When you are prompted, click Restart.

g. After the computer starts, check whether the problem is resolved.

Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit.

You may Turn on\off Windows error reporting by doing the following steps:

1. Go to Windows Error Reporting by Clicking on Start button and opening Control Panel.

I’m getting the following error frequently in my system evt log

it errors once then 25seconds later errors again

then 3 minutes and repeats

Question

the other day i did the windows 2008 R2 Rebooting

Explorer exe. Application error» it says «The instruction at 0xf6628a87 referenced memory at 0x00000000 The Memory could not be read Click on OK to terminate the program

i just get this error message. If it is anything serious, there is nothing I can do.

the 2008R2 OS was hang out of control

what is a major cause of error message? is there any fix or Hotfix?

Regarding the current issue, it may be caused by some third party software conflicting with explorer.exe or it could be a memory conflict with a driver.

Signs of low memory include poor performance, low-memory or out-of-memory notifications, and display problems. I would suggest you to follow the steps provided in these methods and check if it helps in resolving the issue:

Method 1: Run System Maintenance troubleshooter:

Step 1 : Move your mouse to the right bottom and click on search.
Step 2 : Type Troubleshooting in the search box and click on it
Step 3 : On left pane click “View all” click on the «Run Maintenance task» under the System and Security.
Step 4 : Click on the «Next» in the System Maintenance interface.

Select «Try troubleshooting as an administrator

Method 2: I would suggest you to run the Memory Diagnostic Tool and check if it helps.

a) Press Windows key and type «memory«.
b) Click «Settings» and then click the result «Diagnose your computer’s memory problems».
c) Select the recommended option to run the tool.

Check if the issue still persists. If the issue persists, increase the virtual memory.

I recently decided to try and speed up my Dell Inspiron 17 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit computer by installing registry mechanic. I ran the application and after it repaired my registry files, it asked to restart the computer. Since I restarted I have not been able to log on to windows once. I dual boot ubuntu via wubi so that is how I am accessing the internet. Everytime I try to run windows, the startup stops and asks If I would like to run the startup repair function. Everytime I try to restore to a recent backup point I get the message StartRep.exe Application Error The Instruction at 0xfe2811b2 referenced memory at 0x00431588. The memory could not be read. I would like to run chkdsk, but I do not know how to if I can not run windows. I also have recieved the error message (0x8000ffff). PLEASE HELP ME!

This looks to be that registry mechanic has changed few system files or registry settings resulting in the boot failure.

Method 1

To check if there are any bad sectors on the hard drive would suggest running chkdsk which would scan for any bad sectors on the hard drive and if those errors are repairable if would repair and if it cannot at the end of the chkdsk scan you would see a message “found one or more unrecoverable error on the hard drive” which means the hard drive is damaged.

a) Insert the installation disc.

b) Restart your computer.

c) Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart.

d) If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or DVD, check the information that came with your computer. You may need to change your computer’s BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.

e) Choose your language settings, and then click Next.

f) Click Repair your computer.

h) On the System Recovery Options menu, click on Command prompt. and in the command prompt type chkdsk /f and wait till the scan is completed and later restart the computer and check what happens.

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

This, svchost.exe — Application Error, occurrs each time I start my PC.

Is this a problem that can get worse?

Is there a cure?

I could format and re-install but wish to avoid that if possible.

Reinstallation of the operating system is the last resort we provide to the costumers.

Before that provide the below information:

· Do you remember any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?

· What is the service pack installed?

· Are you able to install windows update with no error?

Check the status by booting in safe mode, to boot the computer in safe mode:
