Hello, the reason you are getting this error is because windows does not allow the installation of windows on external drivers.

The only way to do it is to jump through some hoops regarding partitioning or maybe you are picking the wrong disk to install on I.E the USB and instead need to install it on your SSD assuming its internal.

Before rant. Dear Poster, I am a fellow thief to the children of oxygen, daily, just like you. I am searching for the same answer, and what I’ve found so far, is partitioning the HDD/SSD properly with programs such as Disk Partition Partition Assistant might be your answer. I am almost sure it will be mine. Safe travels in your attempts to not break any slots by putting in and pulling out your drive too fast/hard.

I don’t normally leave critiques of ones ability to pay attention, but (My ADHD would make me feel like a hypocrite if:) neither one of the first two posters succeeded in, what seems like, not even trying to read the very first sentence. Pardon me if English is a foreign tongue, but even if that IS true, the ability both of you, to understand enough to address the problem in an appropriate fashion,(Given his ports internal sata ports work) shows that language naivety shouldn’t be an issue. At least the first poster doesn’t seem like a machine, and gave a useful link of true relevancy.

I have been critiquing errors like this more often, recently. Why? Because it clutters the WWW with un-useful information/WRONG information given the subject requested. It makes it hard for foreign speakers who DO falter more, to understand if the title/header/subject/text body///SUBJECT AT HAND, is appropriate for what they searched for. This causes errors in search engine algorithms that will go unnoticed for quiet a bit of time.
