Change your phone number or email address

It’s easy to update or change the email address or phone number associated with your Microsoft account.

Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft and sign in to your account.

Select either Add email or Add phone number and we’ll take you through the process of verifying your contact details and adding it to your account.

You can make the new email or phone number the primary alias by selecting Make primary.

You’ll then have the option to remove the old email address or phone number from your account.

Note: To ensure people can’t search for you in Teams by your old email or phone number, you’ll need to remove it from your account. Remember, you cannot remove a primary alias without having another email/phone number in your account, so add your new alias before removing the old one.

To make sure your changes are reflected in Teams on your mobile device, uninstall the app and reinstall it from the Google Play Store or iOS App Store.

After the app has reinstalled, sign in to Teams with your new email or phone number.

Getting phone numbers for your users

Before you can set up users in your organization to make and receive phone calls, you must get phone numbers for them.

There are three ways to get user numbers:

Use the Microsoft Teams admin center. For some countries and regions, you can get numbers for your users using the Microsoft Teams admin center. See Get new phone numbers for your users.

Port your existing numbers. You can port or transfer existing numbers from your current service provider or phone carrier. See Transfer phone numbers to Teams or Manage phone numbers for your organization for more information to help you do this.

Use a request form for new numbers. Sometimes (depending on your country or region) you won’t be able to get your new phone numbers using the Microsoft Teams Admin Center or you’ll need specific phone numbers or area codes. See Manage phone numbers for your organization for more information.

Get new phone numbers for your users

Using the Microsoft Teams admin center

You must be a Teams service admin to make these changes. See Use Teams administrator roles to manage Teams to read about getting admin roles and permissions.

Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.

In the left navigation, go to Voice > Phone numbers, and then click Add.

Enter a name for the order and add a description.

On the Location and quantity page, do the following:

1. Under Country or region, select a country or region.
2. Under Number type, select User (subscriber).
3. Under Location, select a location. If you need to create a new location, click Add a location.
4. Under Area code, select an area code.
5. Under Quantity, enter the number of numbers that you want for your organization, and then click Next to select your numbers.

Select the numbers you want. You have 10 minutes to select your phone numbers and place your order. If you take more than 10 minutes, the phone numbers will be returned to the pool of numbers.

When you’re ready to place your order, click Place order.

The number of phone numbers for users (subscribers) is equal to the total number of Domestic Calling Plan and/or Domestic and International Calling Plan licenses you have assigned multiplied by 1.1, plus 10 additional phone numbers. For example, if you have 50 users in total with a Domestic Calling Plan and/or Domestic and International Calling Plan, you can acquire 65 phone numbers (50 x 1.1 + 10). Port or transfer phone numbers from your service provider or phone carrier

If you need 999 or fewer phone numbers for your users, use the porting wizard in the Microsoft Teams Admin Center. Follow the steps in Transfer phone numbers to Teams. If your country or region isn’t listed in the porting wizard, you can manually submit a port order or see Manage phone numbers for your organization to download the correct Letter of Authorization (LOA).

If you need to port more than 999 phone numbers, you can manually submit a port order or see Manage phone numbers for your organization to download the correct Letter of Authorization (LOA) and then send it to the PSTN service desk to get all your numbers transferred.

View the phone numbers for your organization

Using the Microsoft Teams admin center

In the left navigation of the admin center, go to Voice > Phone numbers to view the numbers for your organization, including location, number type, and status information.

Assign phone numbers to users

After you get your phone numbers, you’ll need to assign a number to each of your users. See Assign, change, or remove a phone number for a user for more information.

Before you begin, its a good idea to keep the name and version of the product you are using, the product identification number or the product key ready. Microsoft Support Chat

You can also contact Microsoft Support by email and chat. If a Customer Service Agent is online and available for a chat here, you will see a message to this effect. If not, you will see Instant Chat: Customer Service Agents are OFFLINE message, on the right side. You may then try and visit this page for Chat support. You can also receive Remote Assistance Support from Microsoft.

You could also use the services of Microsoft Answer Desk, a live paid Tech Support site, to chat with a Microsoft Support executive.

How to find your phone number in Windows 10 Mobile

More than ever we’re using our smartphones just like we use our computers, more than we use them actually to make phone calls. It’s all about apps and services to the point that at those moments where we need it the most, we can forget something so simple as our own phone number. As such, for those times where you simply forgot, you are switching from a different mobile platform, or you are just jumping to the new version of the mobile operating system from Windows Phone 8.1. Another frequent situation? When going to a foreign country and using a pre-paid SIM card.

In today’s beginners guide, we will show you three very easy methods you can use to find your phone number in your Windows 10 Mobile phone.

Method One: Find your phone number through the Phone settings

1. While in the Start screen, swipe left to bring All apps, then search for and open the Settings app, and tap on System.

Next, tap on Phone.

Finally, your number should be listed under My phone number.

Method Two: Find your phone number through the About settings

Another method that you can use to locate your phone number is by visiting the About page in the Settings app:

Next, tap on About.

Tap the More info button, and your mobile number should be listed in the MDN field.

Note that in this section you can also find a lot of other valuable information, such as the current version and build number of Windows 10 Mobile, firmware version, screen resolution, and a lot more.

Method Three: Find your phone number through the Network & wireless settings

There is also a third option to find your phone number includes visiting the Network & wireless page in the Settings app:

While in the Start screen, swipe left to bring All apps, then search for and open the Settings app, and tap on Network & wireless.

Next, tap on Cellular & SIM.

Scroll down tap on SIM settings.

You will now see your number under SIM info.

That’s all folks. With these three methods, you will able to find quickly and easily your phone number in Windows 10 Mobile.
