Windows 10
Windows 10.
Windows»
+ I.

Change the Windows regional settings to modify the appearance of some data types
Your Microsoft Windows regional settings will influence how your date/time, numeric, and currency data types appear when you apply formatting options. Windows supports a variety of languages, plus currency and date/time formats for the countries/regions that use those languages.
For example, you might use forward slashes to enter a date value for a Date/Time field (for example, 8/29/2019), but when you apply the General Date display format, it may or may not display the forward slashes, depending on the regional settings for Windows.
This principle also applies to numeric and financial data. You can enter currency amounts that use the English pound symbol (£), but Access may display those values in euros, because that is the currency symbol selected for Windows.
The following procedure shows you how to change the Windows regional settings for your computer.
Change the regional settings
To change regional settings, follow the steps described for your computer’s operating system.
Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
Click Change date, time, or number formats.
The Region dialog box appears.
On the Formats tab, select the format you want to change from the drop-down list. Now click the Additional Settings button.
The Customize Format dialog box appears.
Click the tab that contains the settings that you want to modify, and make your changes. For example, to change part or all of a number format, click the Numbers tab and change the setting that you want.
Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
Click Clock, Language, and Region, and then click Regional and Language Options.
The Regional and Language Options dialog box appears.
On the Formats tab, under Current format, click Customize this format.
The Customize Regional Options dialog box appears.
Click the tab that contains the settings that you want to modify, and make your changes. For example, to change part or all of a number format, click the Numbers tab and change the setting that you want.
Windows country or region

Question
We’ve deployed Win 10 1607 to several hundred PCs, and spotted that the «Country or region» is set to United States. We’re in the UK.
So far it doesn’t seem to be a catastrophic issue, as it means things like default dates and currency in apps e.g. Excel, are defaulting to US format.
The annoying thing is I can’t spot a way of changing it, or at least a method that works. The Default Domain policy already has User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Regional Options set with an End User Default Locale of English (United Kingdom).
Is anyone of aware of where this needs to be set in Group Policy ?
(We’ve had the keyboard issue as well, but fixed that with a registry change that’s deployed by Group Policy )

I think your current behavior is correct.
Look at this similar case for more detailed steps, note the last reply that comes from Louis Reedijk.
PS: you’d better adjust the content of your post, it is hard to read for me, maybe other forum users also feel uncomfortable.

Sadly this does not seem to work.
I have a GPO which applies to these PCs and authenticated users. In the user config section of the GPO I have set the following:
sCountry value to «United Kingdom», and the iCountry value to 44. This matches a PC installed with the UK (International English) version of Win 10.
HKCU>Keyboard Layout>Preload, for value 1 to equal 00000809. This should set the UK keyboard.
Also under User Config > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Regional Options > Regional Options . End User Default Locale, this has been set to UK.
I can see these values have been applied in the registry, but I’m getting a US keyboard still, and applications like Word and Excel are still behaving as if in the US e.g. defaulting to Letter, measurements in inches, currency in US dollars. If I look in the region settings they are still US. A UK keyboard has been added, but Windows is using the US keyboard.
I’ve spotted my fundamental mistake, which was to deploy the Windows 10 «English» version. There is an «International English» version which defaults to UK keyboard and locale, but I would prefer not having to redeploy several hundred PCs if this can be adjusted with the registry.
No region or language in Windows 10 pro
I have not long installed Windows 10 pro (over the top of Windows 8 pro) and having followed the setup procedure for configuring for use in the UK, I found the keyboard kept defaulting to US. I went to settings> Time and Language> Region and language, only to find the cupboard was bare?
Any suggestion? They’ll be much appreciated.

I appreciate you’ve put in time and effort to help resolve the issue I’m currently experiencing in windows 10. However, if you revisit my original post and read againt, you will note that I have already followed the path suggested in the link you sent, to the “Region and Language” page. If you then look at the attached graphic supporting the text you will also note that, when I arrive there, the page is blank, there is nothing to click on or highlight: no buttons, no boxes, no grayed out areas… nothing?
But thanks anyway.

Thanks for your advice and accordingly I ran the scan. The result was: “Windows Resources Protection did not find any integrity violations.” Where do I go from here?

Okay. So this article refers to the “language bar,” which it says is found either on the desktop, or the task bar. As I have nothing that relates to a language bar (whatever that may be?) on my desktop (every item on it is known about and put there by myself), I’m assuming therefore, that it’s the popup menu activated by clicking on the group of letters “ENG” displayed far right on my task bar? The popup is in three parts: the first reads “ENG English (United States) US keyboard” which, despite being constantly reset to UK, the system always defaults back to, whenever I reboot my machine or even sometimes while it’s in general use, (it’s through this action that I became aware of the current problem). The second part reads “ENG English (United Kingdom) United Kingdom keyboard” and the third reads “A (with a symbol next to it) Language preferences.” If you click on the third item, it’s a shortcut and does indeed take you to the settings, region and language page, which as we know already, is my current problem, because it’s empty. Having said that, assuming my assumptions so far are right, then this article isn’t about my problem, it’s basically about the language bar being missing, which clearly in my case, it isn’t. In order to help you help me further, perhaps I should reiterate that I installed windows 10, less than 4 weeks ago, on top of windows 8.1. However, I don’t think that would necessarily be the cause of the problem as, as far as I’m aware, during the setup of both systems, both were initially configured to English, English.
Thanks again for your endeavors, they’re much appreciated.

How To Change Windows Store Country Or Location In Windows 10
Last Updated on February 26, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment
When you install or setup Windows 10, you’re asked to select a region or country that you are currently in. Based on your currently selected location, the Windows Store app displays apps and app prices for the selected location or country.
For instance, if you select the United States as your current location, then Windows Store will display apps available for install or purchase in the United States only. To purchase an app, you need to use one of the payment methods available for the selected location or country only.
If the Store app is showing app prices in a different currency than you’re familiar with or if you want to install an app that is not available for your country or region, then you need to do change the Windows Store country or region.
NOTE: Changing Windows Store country or region will also affect Windows 10 operating system as well.
Complete the given below directions to change the Windows Store region in Windows 10.
Method 1 of 2
Change Store region or country using Settings
Step 1: Open the Settings app. That can be opened by clicking or tapping Settings entry in the left pane of the Start menu or simultaneously pressing the Windows logo and R keys on the keyboard.
Step 2: Once the Settings app is launched, go to Time & language > Region.
Step 3: Under the Country or region section, select a country or region from the drop-down box. That’s it!
Restart the Store app to use the new location. If the restarting the Store app didn’t work, please sign out of the account and sign in again.
Method 2 of 2
Change Store country or region via Control Panel
Step 1: Open Control Panel by typing Control Panel in the Start menu search box and then pressing Enter key.
If the Start menu search is not working for some reason, open the Run command box by simultaneously pressing Windows logo and R keys, type Control, and then press Enter key to open Control Panel.
Step 2: Once Control Panel is opened, change the View by to Small icons, and then click Region to open Region dialog.
Step 3: Click on the Location tab to switch to the same.
Step 4: Here, under the Home location section, select a region or country from the drop-down box, and then click the Apply button.
Restart the Store app, if it’s running. If Store is using the old location even after restarting the app, please reboot your PC once.
