Windows credentials have been disabled

windows credentials have been disabled by your system administrator problem

windows 7 PC getting c:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop is not accessible. access is denied.

checking my account «owner» has windows credentials have been disabled by the system administrator. there are no other accounts on the PC except «owner».

I can’t make another account apparently because i have no system rights any more.

can anybody help me out here?

1. If you go to Safe Mode, will you be able to run a full virus scan in your account ?

2. In safe mode, do you regain the admin rights at all ?
If yes, do a system restore. Pick a date when you did not have such a problem as your restore point.

3. In safe mode with networking, do you have admin rights to download ?
If yes, please download Malwarebytes. It is very good in catching viruses. Use it.
If you can’t download, you could go to your freind who has a computer, download the Malwarebytes and burn it to a flash drive or CD, take it home and run it in your computer.

1. Did you make any changes to the computer before having this issue, like installing updates or software?

Creating a New Administrator account might not help as if you create a new account you will get the same error on the new account after you reboot. And I am thinking that you are not able to boot the computer to desktop.

I suggest that you boot your computer to ‘Safe Mode’ and do a System Restore on your computer.

Follow the below steps to boot the computer to ‘Safe Mode’:

a. Restart your computer if it is powered on.

b. Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.

c. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.

d. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.

e. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.

f. Logon to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.

Once you boot the computer to ‘Safe Mode’, I suggest that you do a System Restore on your computer.

a. Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list.

b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

c. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

d. n the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.

I also suggest that you run a Windows Onecare online scan on your computer. You can follow the below link to run the scan:

You should be able to connect to Internet if you are booting to ‘Safe Mode with Networking’. You should try to run the scan from safe mode.

Question

I am trying to get a Windows 7 machine to remember the credentials for a Windows 2012 R2 Server, but I get the above message when I try to store credentials in Credential Manager. I’ve already checked gpedit.msc, and found the entry «Network access: do not allow the storage of passwords and credentials for authentication» is disabled on both the user computer, and server.

I tried using CCleaner to clean out any registry issues, but this did not fix the problem.

I made certain that everyone is on the same workgroup, but this did not fix the problem.

I logged into the built-in administrator and stored the credentials there, but it doesn’t move to the user that everyone else uses.

I’ve restarted the computer several times, but this didn’t fix the problem.

I tried temporarily disabling the firewall, but this did not fix the problem.

I tried using vaultcmd, but this only created a new vault, that can’t store the right credentials in.

If there is any way to fix this problem (regedit, gpedit, vaultcmd, etc) I am open to suggestions.
