На презентации было сказано, что рассылка обновления начнется в средине апреля, а Joe Belfiore в Твиттере сообщил, что разработчики получат Windows Phone 8.1 в первой половине апреля. Точная дата не была названа, но ресурсу wpcentral удалось узнать, что Microsoft планирует рассылку на 14 апреля.

3. Какие устройства смогут обновиться до Windows Phone 8.1?

Довольно популярный вопрос, который особенно интересует владельцев бюджетных смартфонов на Windows Phone 8.0. Специально для вас, Microsoft объявили, что они разрабатывали Windows Phone 8.1 в первую очередь для бюджетных смартфонов и только потом оптимизировали их для топовых.

Полный список смартфонов, которые получат Windows Phone 8.1:

Nokia Lumia : 1520, 1320, 1020, 928, 925, 920, 822, 820, 810, 720, 625, 620, 525, 521, 520. Модели 930/635/630 изначально работают на Windows Phone 8.1.

4. Это как-то взломает мой смартфон или повредит его?

Нет. Это всего-лишь обновление по воздуху, как и любое другое. Абсолютно безопасное и безвредное. Шанс сбоя обновления Developer Preview такой же, как и любого другого. Опыт предыдущей волны обновлений для разработчиков показал, что Microsoft делает тотально безглючные и идеально работающие обновления для разработчиков. Нет оснований боятся низкой производительности или глюков.

5. Как откатится с Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview на Windows Phone 8?

Только путем перепрошивки устрйоства. Откатится «с ходу» нельзя. Если вы уже установили обновление, значит пользуйтесь им. Мы, честно говоря, не видим причин откатываться с WP8.1 на WP8.

6. Сотрет ли обновление Windows Phone 8.1 данные на моем устройстве?

Никак нет. Как и обычные, другие обновление, Developer Preview обновит лишь систему, оставив нетронутыми ваши данные. Если же вы боитесь, можете сделать резервную копию. Но опять же, нет оснований подобным переживаниям. Вы утратите данные только при перепрошивке смартфона, никак не при обновлении.

7. Лишит ли обновление Windows Phone 8.1 меня гарантии?

Зависит от оператора и производителя смартфона. Но в мире не было прецедентов для 100%-ответа на этот вопрос. Посмотрите опять вопрос №4 и вы увидите, что обновление не повредит ваш смартфон, следовательно не будет причин нести его в сервис, разве что при обнаружении заводских браков или повреждении устройства. Но и помните, что если вы утопите ваш смартфон, то это не будет гарантийным случаем и сервис не станет разбираться какое обновление у вас установлено. Кроме того, вы никак не сможете отличить финальное обновление от preview, так что сервис не сможет вам ничего доказать если начнет придираться к версии обновления системы.

8. Чем отличается Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview от Windows Phone 8.1 финального релиза?

Номером сборки. Это один. Второе — Windows Phone 8.1 финальной версии будет рассылаться в паре с Lumia Cyan (для владельцев Nokia Lumia) или другим фирменным обновлением от производителя. В остальном, никаких функциональных отличий не будет. Все различия будут только на уровне кода системы, что как мы знаем, не заметно для пользователей.

Помните, что в Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview не входят обновления от производителей (Lumia Cyan и подобные).

9. Когда будет официальная рассылка Windows Phone 8.1?

Тогда как preview-версию обновления получают все и сразу, финальная версия должна получить зеленый свет от оператора для каждой модели конкретно. Задержка будет и для обыкновенных, не операторских смартфонов. Период рассылки обновления может растянуться с нескольких недель до нескольких месяцев. Ожидается начало рассылки в июле 2014 года.

10. Windows Phone 8.1 для Nokia Lumia 710 и Nokia Lumia 800?

Нет. Все смартфоны с Windows Phone 7, 7.5 или 7.8 больше не получат никаких обновлений. НИКОГДА! И пожалуйста, не спрашивайте об «альтернативных вариантах», «может есть какой-то взлом?», «должно же что-то быть», «а у меня FullUnlock» и подобное. Нет и не будет.

Preview for Developers program

Back in June 2012, Microsoft revealed plans for the ‘enthusiast program’ for Windows Phone fans. It was during the Windows Phone 8.0 announcement and many people here on this site were tantalized by the prospect of getting updates earlier and faster than carriers.

That’s what the Program is for. It’s labeled ‘Preview for Developers’ but in reality, it’s for anyone with a Windows Phone 8 device, as the barriers to participate are extremely low.

Microsoft is well aware that carriers tend to drag their feet on updates, so this is their way around that roadblock. It’s a sly move as Microsoft actually wants you to use this Program so that they can show carriers that these updates won’t take down their networks (seriously, that’s what carriers worry about).
