Как установить драйвера Precision Touchpad на большинстве ноутбуков под управлением Windows 10

Для начала нужно объяснить, что такое Precision Touchpad. Это тачпад и драйвера к нему, разработанные совместно с Microsoft. Зачем они нужны? Они позволяют полноценно работать с жестами тачпада в Windows 10, что будет удобно большинству пользователей.

Но тут есть одно ограничение — тачпад в вашем ноутбуке должен быть от Elan или Synaptics. Чаще всего они встречаются в ноутбуках от Acer, Lenovo, HP и MSI, но можете проверить и на ноутбуках других марок. Проверить производителя тачпада просто — нужно зайти в диспетчер устройств > Мыши и иные указывающие устройства:

Если вам повезло с производителем, то теперь нужно скачать соответствующие драйвера для Synaptics и Elan, распаковать их и подключить мышь (вы же не собираетесь при установке драйверов на тачпад пользоваться только клавиатурой, верно?)

Теперь в диспетчере устройств нажимаем правой кнопкой мыши на ваш тачпад > Обновить драйвер. Теперь нужно нажать на «Выполнить поиск драйверов на этом компьютере» > Выбрать драйвер из списка доступных драйверов > Установить с диска:

В открывшемся окне нужно выбрать Autorun.inf или ETD.inf из директории со скачанным и распакованным драйвером, после чего нужно выбрать Synaptics (или Elan) Pointing Device и нажать «Далее»:

Windows ругнется на драйвер (соглашаемся с установкой), после чего нужно перезагрузить ноутбук и вуаля, в параметрах должна появиться настройка жестов для тачпада:

ELAN Touchpad Driver – драйвер, необходимый для работы тачпада на ноутбуках. Без него сенсорная панель будет работать некорректно или вовсе перестанет реагировать на нажатия. Программное обеспечение необходимо для ноутбуков, которые используют тачпад от производителя ELAN.

При инсталляции ELAN Touchpad Driver на компьютер также устанавливается программное обеспечение для настройки сенсорной панели. Благодаря утилите можно регулировать скорость перемещения курсора, чувствительность и другие параметры. Пользователь может настроить вертикальную или горизонтальную прокрутку. Это пригодится при просмотре страниц в текстовом документе или веб-браузере. Также можно программировать нажатия, свайпы и другие движения по тачпаду, применяя к ним определенную функцию.

Помимо настройки сенсорной панели программное обеспечение, устанавливаемое вместе с ELAN Touchpad Driver, позволяет управлять кнопками тачпада.

Windows precision touchpad driver elan

I had a not so good expereince with Touchpad of Legion Y720. it is not smooth, it lags, it skips the touch etc.

so i found about windows precision driver that can replace synaptic or elan drivers. and trust me after installing the same, the touchpad works great. and after installation deactivates the synaptics gestures from synaptics settings.

i am sharing the same. please check. you can rollback to previous drivers easily so no harm in trying. but please read the article completely before trying.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

The Elan driver is poorly-written but allows much more customization if you go over its registry settings, so there is a trade-off here though.

I’m using Y700 with Elan mouse pad

For Elan mouse pad, if your mouse pad doesnt work now, go to device manager. right click the mini ptp device with yellow exclam. mark, update driver. click all devices. next. click have disk. Browse. same location as the ETD.inf, only this time click on ETD mini ptp.inf. boom. Your PC has a Windows Precision Trackpad.
