I got same errors before. I got this error «WinSDK_amd64\WinSDK_amd64.msi» when I tried to install X86 microsoft SDKs 7.1 into X64 windows. That’s why. you can use this installation tool http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8279 to download and install automatically.

For the first error you got for installing on X64 machine, that’s because the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (Redistributable or Runtime) version you installed is newer (Probably is 10.0.40219) than the one in Microsoft SDKs 7.1 (is 10.0.30219). So you can uninstall the newer one from your «uninstall or change a program», then install SDKs 7.1, or you can uncheck the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 options when you start to install windows SDKs 7.1.

If Microsoft allows this post (it’s a 7-year old thread) then a tip of my hat to them.

I have spent HOURS trying to install the Win 7.1 SDK. I’ve uninstalled 2010 redistributables, both x86 anc x64. Various installers kept losing their «minds» with that WinSDK_amd64.msi file. I’ve downloaded a number of ISOs. and still that MSI file isn’t in any of them.

WinSDK_amd64.msi is hiding somewhere.

It’s really fun when the popup says to look at the log file. and the path to it does not exist.

R.Z., the tool you referred to must be one of a collection of tools all named the same thing. because there are numerous references to it in various discussion areas. The id numbers are all different. but the four I downloaded all have the same size: 509264 bytes. The LAST one downloaded, the one you mentioned, succeeded where no other did.

Holy cow. I just ran MD5SUM on all four copies of that tool:

My head hurts. The executables are all the same. But only the last one was successful.

What I want now is the offline installer. I want to burn it to DVD and put it in a nice cool place. because if I must do this again, that online installer is likely to be digital dust.

I have Windows Ultimate 64 and VS 2010 SP1 installed.

I have tried installing the Windows SDK for Windows 7 several time, from both the ISO and on-line installer. Each time I get the same results described below.

From last entry in the log file:

Though the log files says to look in the Samples/. ConfigDetails.htm document for further information, I can not find a file with this name on my computer. Also, I have the complete log file if this would help.

Since I have tried this many times, with the same results from both the ISO and On-line install methods, and since I have not had a probem with any other download, I am certain that it is not the result of a bad download or a checksum error.

The main reason I want to install the SDK is to allow me to integrate the use of Visual Studio 2010 and with SQL Server 2008 V2, including its help system. If there is another way to do this, let me know, such as installing v 6.1 for Net Framework 3.5.

Windows SDK v7.1 won’t install on i7-3840QM Win 7 Pro 64bit

After installing .Net Framework 4 version 4.0.30319 I’ve been trying to install Windows SDK v7.1. I’ve tried installing from the Microsoft web interface multiple times as well as by downloading and burning 3 different CD’s from ISO images. I’ve also tried a clean boot and install through the web interface but had identical results. The first difference I see when comparing with a successful install I did on an i7-2500k processor is on line 11 of the SDKSetup_7.0.6918.0.log file. Lines 10-12 of the i7-2500k log file (successfully installed) read:

The log file when installing from the GRMSDKX_EN_DVD.iso is essentially identical to the one generated by the web interface.

The log file when installing from either GRMSDK_EN_DVD.iso or GRMSDKIAI_EN_DVD.iso aborts quickly with the message:

Setup could not find the file WinSDK_amd64\WinSDK_amd64.msi at any of the specified source locations

I’m stumped. Is it just me or are others having problems installing on the new Ivy Bridge chips?

У меня установлена Visual Studio 2019.

Я нашёл способ, но он для Windows 10 через вмешательство в установку, но на windows 7 вроде бы нет такой возможности.
