Windows Security error message «You’ll need a new app to open this windowsdefender link»
I’ve just gotten a brand new Acer laptop running Windows 10 Home (OS Build 18362.267), and I’m getting the error message «You’ll need a new app to open this windowsdefender link» when I try to click on any options in the Windows Security page in Settings (Open Windows Security, Virus & threat protection, Account protection, etc.). It gives me the option to look for an app in the Microsoft Store, but there’s no app listed when I do that.
Any idea how to fix this?

1. On your search bar, type «Windows PowerShell» and select Run as administrator
2. Type the command:
Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted and press Enter
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach
3. Perform a reboot and check again.
Kindly try running the SFC and DISM command as well to try in repairing the system files:
1. On the search bar, type «command prompt» and select Run as administrator
2. Type the following commands in order
sfc /scannow then press Enter
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /CheckHealth then press Enter
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /ScanHealth then press Enter
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth then press Enter
rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN then press Enter
3. Perform a reboot once done and check again.
I hope this helps.

3. If both #1 and #2 fail to solve, stay on Safe Mode. Assuming the account in trouble is also your Admin account.
Create a NEW Admin account.
Log on to your NEW Admin account, remove the account in question.( Note : While doing that, the system will ask if you want to save the data from that account. Say yes and the system will do it for you. Your e-mails will not be saved. If you want to save the e-mails as well, do so BEFORE you start removing the account.)
Can you now logon in Normal mode ?
