Microsoft Security Essentials или MSE – антивирусный пакет, который защищает операционную систему от вредоносного ПО. Подходит как для частных лиц, так и для малого бизнеса.

Функционал Microsoft Security Essentials

Главная особенность программы – комплексная защита от любых вредоносных программ, включая вирусы, шпионские приложения, трояны и руткиты. Несмотря на это, антивирус не нагружает ПК и практически не снижает быстродействие системы.

Чтобы максимально обезопасить компьютер от вредоносного ПО, разработчики оснастили MSE рядом полезных функций:

• ● Защита в реальном времени. Программа работает в фоновом режиме и блокирует вирусы, когда они пытаются запуститься и получить доступ к управлению компьютера. Security Essentials уведомляет пользователя об этом и предлагает варианты решения проблемы.
• ● Ручное сканирование. Если есть подозрения, что вредоносное ПО смогло обойти защиту, пользователь может самостоятельно запустить поиск вирусов. Microsoft Security Essentials предлагает несколько режимов. Быстрое сканирование ищет только в часто используемых областях, выборочное – в определенных папках, а полное проводит глубокий анализ всей системы.
• ● Планировщик. Для большей безопасности можно задать график сканирования системы. Например, пользователь может настроить анализ в то время дня, когда он не пользуется компьютером.
• ● Уведомления. Когда программа сканирует систему, она уведомляет пользователя с помощью иконок трех цветов. Красная означает, что вредоносное ПО активно распространяется в системе или взяло управление в свои руки. При наличии подозрительных приложений со средним уровнем опасности иконка принимает желтый цвет. Когда система полностью чиста, значок становится зеленым.
• ● Автообновление. Microsoft Security Essentials регулярно проверяет базу на наличие новых пакетов и автоматически загружает их. Это помогает антивирусу поддерживать актуальность и распознавать даже самые свежие вирусы.
• ● Решение для бизнеса. Программа подходит для обеспечения безопасности компьютеров в сети малых предприятий. Количество копий ПО может достичь 10.
• ● Журнал. Пользователь может посмотреть когда проводилось сканирование, какие вирусы программа нашла и что с ними сделала.

Антивирусный пакет разработан специально для ОС Windows Vista/7. В поздних версиях он заменен на Windows Defender, который изначально встроен в систему. Automatic updates

To help ensure your antimalware solution detects the latest threats, get updates automatically as part of Windows Update. If you are having problems with Windows Update, use the troubleshooter.

If you don’t already use Microsoft Defender Antivirus, learn how to turn it on.

Trigger an update

A manually triggered update immediately downloads and applies the latest security intelligence. This process might also address problems with automatic updates. Microsoft Defender Antivirus and other Microsoft antimalware solutions provide a way to manually trigger an update.

In Windows 10, select Check for updates in the Windows Security Virus & threat protection screen to check for the latest updates.

Enterprise administrators can also push updates to devices in their network. To clear the current cache and trigger an update, use a batch script that runs the following commands as an administrator:

You need to download different security intelligence files for different products and platforms. Select the version that matches your Windows operating system or the environment where you will apply the update.

Note: Starting on Monday October 21, 2019, the Security intelligence update packages will be SHA2 signed.
Please make sure you have the necessary update installed to support SHA2 signing, see 2019 SHA-2 Code Signing Support requirement for Windows and WSUS.

The links point to an executable file named mpam-fe.exe , mpam-feX64.exe , or mpas-fe.exe (used by older antispyware solutions). Simply launch the file to manually install the latest security intelligence.
