Процесс WindowServer Mac OS — что это такое и почему грузит процессор?

Приветствую друзья! Если процесс грузит ПК — виновата может быть некая программа, которая содержит баг. Такая программа может вызывать нагрузку даже системного компонента. Но может быть все проще — у вас ПК немного слабый, поэтому системные процессы заметно грузят, но на современном компе — данная нагрузка незаметна.

WindowServer — что это за процесс на Mac OS?

Компонент операционной системы Mac OS, отвечающий за работу рабочего стола, панели Dock, разных меню, отображение приложений, прорисовку всех окошек.

Другими словами — компонент, участвующий в работе интерфейса. Папки/файлы на рабочем столе, эффекты прозрачности — работает благодаря процессу WindowServer.

Название процесса напоминает связь с операционкой Windows — но это не так, просто слово Window переводится как окно.

Завершить работу процесса нельзя. Он критически важен. Если закрыть — вас перекинет на системный экран входа.

Как понимаю — WindowServer это что-то вроде как explorer.exe операционки Windows, который отвечает за работу оболочки (проводника).

WindowServer — почему грузит систему?

Грузить не должен, разве что кратко временно.

Рекомендации, которые могут снизить нагрузку:

1. Постарайтесь уменьшить количество файлов и папок на рабочем столе. Оптимизируйте — перенесите часть файлов в определенную папку.
2. Закройте окна Finded (файловый менеджер), которые вы не используете.
3. Отключите эффекты прозрачности. Данное действие повысит производительность любого ПК на Mac (в принципе Windows это тоже касается). Откройте Системные настройки > Специальные возможности > дисплей > уменьшить прозрачность + уменьшить движения.
4. Выключите опцию Automatically rearrange Spaces based on most recent use, чтобы при нажатии по панели задач — workspace не менялись местами.
5. Закройте приложения, которыми вы не пользуетесь. Просто WindowServer также участвует в работе визуальных эффектах сторонних приложений.
6. Причиной может быть определенная программа, которая неправильно использует WindowServer, вызывая нагрузку на процессор, использования большого количества оперативной памяти. Но иногда это поведение нормальное — программы, которые часто меняют визуальный контент — способны грузить ПК. Это может быть игра, видеоредактор, флеш-содержимое в Safari.

После изменения данных настроек перезагрузите ПК.

Если вы используете несколько мониторов, то WindowServer — будет больше использовать ресурсов, это нормальное явление. Однако при наличии производительного процессора — это не очень заметно.

Question: Q: Why is WindowServer consuming 48% of my CPU?

After reading a few other posts I’ve decided to start off by attaching an EtreCheck report. Little to no other activity is occuring while the WindowServer is at such a high CPU consumption. Certainly acts sluggish trying to launch apps and switching between users can produce a gray screen of death, just goes to a gray screen, never recovers. Seems really strange to me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Question: Q: WindowServer HIGH CPU usage why?

Ran a Etrecheck on my IMac late 2015 with a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Memory, and Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M380 2 GB. Although overall performance was excellent it indicated the following :

You have parts of MacKeeper still installed. Go to the hard drive level Library and look in the 2 folders below.

That’s actually not still installed, it’s been quarantined by Malwarebytes. I’m kind of surprised that EtreCheck finds stuff like that, but it’s definitely worth clearing the Malwarebytes quarantine to delete that file.

You are welcome. The gentleman that wrote the program once posted the rating reflected how long it took the report to run, so the change may not indicate anything is wrong. If you have any concerns, run and post a new report. Someone else may have a suggestion.

Having grown suspicious of what the people at Mackeeper were telling me and what I understood at only be most basic level about Mac — I disconnected from them called apple care and togther uninstalled mackeeper. Then I began to read what I could find on the subject of Malware — Apple and ran into an amazing article here — see attached. But I still had great fear of seeing Kernel anywhere on the activity monitor ( spawned from my earliest Mac lap top in 1994 and Kernel errors shutting me down, having just upgraded my RAM to 32 only to find that more then half was being used as a cache, that there were some 330 processes open but only 4 running the rest sleeping. so I began reaching out to you all — all other more tech savvy people then I. I will add the report and additional detail — I apologize for taking up all this space as I read it is a no no to do just that — ( Back up id normally to a external harddrive — dedicated and 3 TB but did not have it connected when terst was run.)
