Сюрреалистический квест Yume Nikki отправит героиню Хиккимори Мадоцуки в мир ее снов. Здесь предстоит исследовать сновидения девушки, где полно разных образов и персонажей. Бодрствуя, девочка способна передвигаться лишь по собственной комнатке и балкону, а выйти из дома она не может. В отличие от классических RPG, здесь нет диалогов, есть минимум действий и простой сюжет. В доме есть пару интерактивных предметов — телевизор, который ничего не показывает, кроме таблицы, дневник, игровая приставка, где можно сыграть примитивную мини-игру.

Во снах девчонка может встретить таких персонажей:

• Ситаи или трупы ― встречаются на отрезке дороги в Dense Woods B, дают Stoplight — эффект светофора.
• Убоа — черно-белая маска, уносящая протагониста на локацию, из которой не будет выхода. Встретить можно на Pink Sea.
• Сэкком Масада — человекоподобное существо в черном костюме с белым лицом. Умеет играть на пианино и обитает на космолете.
• Понико — девочка из вигвама в Pink Sea. Мирная, но если выключить свет, то может стать Убоа.
• Моноэ — простая девчушка из Белой пустыни. Способна телепортироваться при контакте с протагонистом.
• Моноко — девочка из Белой пустыне, предположительно, сестренка Моноэ. Использовав Stoplight, можно увидеть ее настоящий облик.
• Кюкю ― создание с внушительными размерами, трет перила лестниц, издвая звуки. Имеет радужную раскраску с преимущественным красным цветом.

Чтобы начать приключение, персонажу нужно просто уснуть. Это перенесет девчонку в мир сновидений. Пройдя через балкон, героиня отправляется в отправную точку — Нексус, где есть 12 различных дверей, скрывающих странные Вселенные. Здесь девушка встретит различных существ, от которых сможет получить особые эффекты, предметы, без них завершение игры будет невозможным. Всего их есть 24, и они способны изменять внешность Мадоцуки и предоставить ей отдельные способности. Их все необходимо собрать, чтобы использовать в Нексусе в финале.

Миры Снов большие и разные, и периодически переплетаются. Чтобы выбраться отсюда, иногда придется возвращаться по пути обратно. В процессе Хиккимори может задействовать эффекты, либо просыпаться, щипая себя за щеку. Среди созданий есть мирные и вражески настроенные торинингены — люди с клювами птиц. Убить протагониста они не могут, но непременно отправят на локацию без выхода, и прохождение придется начать заново.

If you check certain characters or items in the game you will collect an “Effect”. These “Effects” can be used to change the main character’s appearance.

Some of these “Effects” have special actions or animations which you can activate by pressing 1 or 3 on the number pad.

Yume Nikki is a very unique title that has become one of the most well-known indie games to come out of Japan.

It is unlike any other RPG, especially in the fact that there really is no action or dialogue to speak of. This gives the game a very dark and foreboding atmosphere. Can you make it to the secret ending?

• There are no particular goals nor story of which to speak. You simply walk around.
• Checking certain characters inside the dream will increase the number of «Effects».
• Using «Effects» will cause the main character’s appearance to change.
• (During this time, you can use the 1 or 3 keys to implement special movements and effects.)
• Using the same «Effect» a second time will cause the character to revert to their original form.
• «Effects» can only be discarded inside rooms with many doors.

Q. Why does the Japanese version crash?

Welcome to the “Yume Nikki” for Mac game page. This page contains information + tools how to port this game so you can play it on your Mac just like a normal application.

This game is not available in the Porting Kit yet. Porting Kit is the new application which “ports” the game to your Mac. The video and download links in the slider are outdated and won’t work on OS X 10.11+. Fortunately there is way to fix/update it, install the game with the Porting Kit using this video instruction. Or when you use the Crossover application the Crosstie below (when available).

Game description:
In Yume Nikki (Dream Diary), you’re cast as a young girl living in a small apartment. There is very little to do in your room, but fall asleep and an entire dream world is yours to explore. The Z key can be used to interact or gain new effects. Certain locations beyond each door may yield more than one effect for the player to discover. Press 9 to wake yourself up. Use the desk in the room to save your progress, and hold the escape key for more than two seconds to exit the NASU console game. Acquiring the bicycle, lamp and knife should be at the top of your list, as these items will double your character’s speed, light up dark areas and allow basic attack moves to be executed. Nearly all locations are wrapped around, hence walking in one direction endlessly will always bring you back to the starting point.

Glitching?

Hello, I had this game on IOS for maybe less than a year and somehow the game itself keeps glitching often and idk what to do to get it to stop or change. I’ve redownloaded and so on and no matter what it still glitches in the entire game itself and especially in black background maps.
Please fix this. I love this game with a passion and was very happy this got to be mobile.
I hope this can be resolved so I can go back to playing it again.

Much better than the reviews say.

After reading the reviews, I had serious doubts about buying this app. But because I absolutely love this game so much, I decided to bite the bullet and I bought the app. First thing I noticed that that it was half the speed of the original. Many reviews say this, but I quickly discovered that you just have to turn off low power mode to have it run at normal speed. It is just like the original but with some inaccurate names for the effects, but other than that, I would say this is really worth it if you like Yume Nikki.

But, there is only one problem. You can’t rotate the screen. It is always with the charger pointing to the right side of the phone, and even if you rotate the phone, nothing changes. But it’s not even that big of a problem, it’s only an issue if you are charging your phone and it creates an awkward angle.

Overall, great app, and the other reviews are making it seem really bad, which it’s not. I like it a lot.

Great game, terrible port

First of all, I never bother with reviews, but Yume Nikki is a game so near and dear to my heart that I can’t stand seeing it done so dirty. First of all, the price point. If I’m going to /pay/ for a game that’s free on PC, it better be good. Especially more than a dollar.
A huge issue in the game is the framerate. Going up/down staircases easily takes double the time it would normally, and the bike effect and speed glitch do little to help that. It takes an excessive amount of time. The controls aren’t intuitive, but I understand porting a game like this onto a device with no keyboard is difficult.
Another technical issue is the fact that the music clips almost constantly, making some areas a pain to be in with sound on.
There’s also a nitpick with the changing of some names. Medamaude and yuki onna have been changed to “eye palm” and “snow woman,” which makes it hard for a die hard fan to locate in the menu.
I’m excited to have a version I can take anywhere, but there are too many flaws right now for me to be able to excuse having to pay three dollars for an otherwise free game.
