Problem

Fail to Install Optim Performance Manager 5.3.1 on Windows Server 2012 R2 with Application Exception Detals: ZeroGu2: Windows DLL failed to load

Symptom

When running OPM 5.3.1 installation file «IOPM.server.v5.3.1.0.install-on-win64.exe» on Windows Server 2012 R2, user will hit the following Fatal Application Error:

If clicking «Details. » button, user will see the following Application Exception Details:

Resolving The Problem

The installer needs to be executed in Windows 7 compatibility mode with following steps:

1 Right Click on the installer file and select Properties from the Context menu.
2 Click on the Compatibility tab.
3 Under the Compatibility mode section, set the the check box to true for «Run this program in compatibility mode for:»
4 Under the drop down select Windows 7 .
5 Click on OK to apply the compatibility mode.

6 Then run the installer again and proceed normally. The installation will complete successfully.

When running the 7.1.5 installer setup.exe , the application quits unexpectedly with Invocation taget exception
The installation starts, but never makes it to the point of entering any information.

Make sure to run the installer using Runas Administrator
Set the installer to run in «Windows 7 Compatibility mode»
a] Right click on setup.exe
b] Go to Troubleshoot Compatibility—> Try recommended Settings—> Test the Program

c] The installer will now continue with the setup, prompt the user for information and complete the installation.
